The Children's House of Philadelphia is a remarkable, family-run and women-owned preschool that has provided our child and us with a truly wonderful experience over nearly two years. As parents, it was crucial for us to find an environment where our child feels safe, happy, and thrives both emotionally and mentally. This school has exceeded our expectations in every way imaginable. The school's dedication to investing in its staff through continuous development and training is evident in the exceptional quality of education our child receives. An impressive staff-to-student ratio ensures personalized attention, and the high staff retention reflects the supportive environment they foster. Communication from the staff is outstanding—prompt, clear, and empathetic without being overwhelming. The school and its team are an invaluable extension of our family's support, consistently guiding us through parenting challenges. Most recently, facing a new hurdle, the school proactively observed the issue, dedicating thorough attention to understanding its source and identifying the right solution for our child. This level of insightful identification, care, and effective problem-solving truly sets them apart.
Nadia SinnoJan 15, 2026The Children's House is amazing. Our son has been going there since he was about a year old and he's now almost 2.5. The teachers are incredibly attentive and encouraging and the community is incredible. The school regularly hosts gatherings for parents to get to know each other, become educated about early childhood education, and contribute to our children's classrooms. We are a queer couple and we're so glad that our son is going to school with kids from other queer families and in such a welcoming environment. We feel safe and confident every time we drop him off.
alanna beroizaDec 2, 2025The community the school creates is second to none. Since day 1 we have felt welcomed, and this school goes above to make you feel special. We have sent our 2 boys here and could not imagine where they would be without Children's House. Our kids went in as shy covid kids who barely could speak, and it seemed in a matter of weeks they blossomed and became inquisitive, curious learners who thrive in the routine of the day to day. We adore this school and will miss it one day as our boys grow and move on with their learning, all the while knowing their little minds started to expand in this wonderful school!
Alyssa GuerreroNov 26, 2025We couldn’t be happier with Children’s House! I can’t believe how easy the transition was and the gains our kid has made in just a couple of months. Within a week of starting our kid started to become more regulated and independent. She’s thriving now.
Regina SteigerwaldNov 26, 2025We could not be happier with Children’s House—it’s an institution in South Philly. For two kids, we’ve found the educational staff to be so supportive and responsive. The administration is also top notch (which matters more than you might think). They not only ensure that business is clear and orderly, but through their engagement and extracurricular effort, they help the whole community shine.
Cameron MillerNov 25, 2025The care they give children at this school is second to none. We have seen firsthand the kind, gentle, loving, and nurturing environment they create for all children who attend their school. The Montessori approach gives the children the freedom to explore, create, and discover what they really love to do. It is immaculately clean, well run, safe, and they have many programs for educating parents as well. It is a welcoming environment for people of all different backgrounds and that diversity is celebrated. If you are looking for the best school that you can possibly send your child, look no further than The Children's House of Philadelphia.

Questions parents ask about THE CHILDRENS HOUSE OF PHILADELPHIA
Is THE CHILDRENS HOUSE OF PHILADELPHIA a licensed child care provider in Pennsylvania?
- Yes. THE CHILDRENS HOUSE OF PHILADELPHIA holds Pennsylvania certificate 103346129-0001, listed as "LICENSED" by the Office of Child Development and Early Learning in Philadelphia County. The current certificate runs to February 8, 2027. Confirm current standing at compass.dhs.pa.gov/providersearch before enrolling.
What is THE CHILDRENS HOUSE OF PHILADELPHIA's Keystone STARS rating?
- Pennsylvania rates THE CHILDRENS HOUSE OF PHILADELPHIA STAR 1, on a scale of one to four where four is highest. That tier took effect on February 20, 2020. Keystone STARS measures programme standards such as staff qualifications and learning environment, not inspection outcomes.
Does Pennsylvania record a negative sanction against THE CHILDRENS HOUSE OF PHILADELPHIA?
- No. The state's provider dataset records no negative sanction against THE CHILDRENS HOUSE OF PHILADELPHIA at the time the record was published. That is a single field in a snapshot, not a full compliance history, and it is not the same as a clean inspection record. The licensing inspection detail is at compass.dhs.pa.gov/providersearch.
Does this page show inspection results for THE CHILDRENS HOUSE OF PHILADELPHIA?
- No. Pennsylvania completes at least one unannounced inspection a year at every licensed provider, and publishes the results through the provider search at compass.dhs.pa.gov/providersearch. Those results are not included here, and there is no open dataset of them, so nothing on this page reflects THE CHILDRENS HOUSE OF PHILADELPHIA's inspection history either way. Look the provider up there and read the licensing inspection record.
