  • We have had the absolute best experience with the Fishtown School. There are a number of things that make this school really special: 1. The ratio: Our son started in the infant room, which had a small infant to student ratio — he got so much individualized attention and love. He’s 2 now, and he STILL talks about his teachers from the infant room. He’s in the toddler room now, and he loves his teachers — they do such a great job caring for him :) 2. It’s fun! They are always doing such fun things and activities — whether it’s Story Time with Miss Liz at the library, music time, or the tons of cute little art projects that they put in his bag at pickup, it’s clear that he has a blast there. They also go on excursions (Penn Treaty Park, the Please Touch Museum), which are so fun for him (and us!). 3. He’s learned SO much. He came home one day rambling about koalas (we had never mentioned koalas), and that kind of thing happens all of the time. He has learned all about animals, letters, numbers, and all sorts of things. They take circle time every day (including in the infant room), and he has learned so much from all of his teachers. 4. The warmth. Everyone here is so warm and caring. They all know his name (he looooves Miss Ronnie, the Center Director) and it’s clear that they really love him too. It really eases my mind knowing that he is surrounded by people that love him so much. 5. The space! The school has two locations, the original location (for the infants, tweeners, and young toddlers) and The Fishtown School, Too (for infants, older toddlers, and Preschoolers). The original location is really colorful and feels super cozy, and the new one has an indoor gym and outside play area — between the two of them, it’s really the best of all worlds. 6. The community. Miss Ronnie and team work really hard to make the whole school feel like a community. They plan after hours events for the parents to get to know each other (and also will stay open later for date nights a number of times a year). They celebrate OUR birthdays too, and foster points of connection across parents. This benefits the kids tremendously, and really shows how much they go the extra mile. In sum, one of the best possible decisions we made was selecting The Fishtown School for our son — it’s the best!

  • Our child attended Fishtown school from about 4 months to almost 2 years old. He absolutely loved it and leaving the school was the most difficult part of our move. The teachers and directors were very communicative throughout the day on the app, which made leaving him at a young age a little easier. The student to teacher ratio was low, especially in the infant room, which gave a us a lot of comfort in the early days. The teachers were very interactive and often took the students to the library and the park to supplement the curriculum. We really felt our son thrived here. I would absolutely recommend the Fishtown school and have referred other families who have been just as happy as we were.

  • My son attended The Fishtown School from the time he was 1 until just over 3 years old, and we are so grateful for the years he spent there. The small baby‑to‑teacher ratio meant he was always easily, cared for, and loved. As new parents, the daily communication through the app brought us so much comfort. We always felt connected and reassured knowing we could easily reach his teachers throughout the day. He learned so much during his time there and still talks about The Fishtown School with so much joy. As a family, we felt incredibly supported as well. The date nights they offered throughout the year gave my husband and me a chance to reconnect, and our son was always happy for the extra play time with his friends. Ms. Ronnie and the entire teaching team created such a nurturing, joyful environment for him during those early, formative years. Leaving the school was emotional for all of us because we knew just how deeply he was cared for. I also loved how much they embraced the neighborhood—visits to the library, playground, and little “nature walks” to explore the world around them. The facility itself is bright, clean, and thoughtfully designed, with inviting colors and cubbies full of engaging materials. We will always be thankful for the love, learning, and community our son experienced at The Fishtown School.

  • We love the Fishtown School! Our daughter attended from the age of 6 months to 2 years old. We left due to an out of state move and we were so sad to say goodbye. The low baby-to-teacher ratio was such piece of mind while she was an infant. All of the teachers were wonderful and caring and truly went above and beyond. It was much more than basic childcare—lots of curriculum and interactive, age-appropriate learning. We truly felt confident in the care she received. Would recommend to anyone looking in Fishtown area!

  • We’ve had our two year old here for just about a year and we have had a great experience. The rooms are small and I’ve always felt the teachers truly care and go the extra mile to make our little one comfortable. They take the kids on trips to the playground around the corner as well as the library once a week. The teachers are great about sending pictures and updates of the kids, which I really appreciate.

  • My now 3 year old has been at the Fishtown School for nearly a year and we only have positive things to say. The director and staff are fantastic. My daughter loves it there and has been learning so much!

Questions parents ask about THE FISHTOWN SCHOOL LLC

Is THE FISHTOWN SCHOOL LLC a licensed child care provider in Pennsylvania?

Yes. THE FISHTOWN SCHOOL LLC holds Pennsylvania certificate 103902314-0001, listed as "LICENSED" by the Office of Child Development and Early Learning in Philadelphia County. The current certificate runs to December 30, 2026. Confirm current standing at compass.dhs.pa.gov/providersearch before enrolling.

What is THE FISHTOWN SCHOOL LLC's Keystone STARS rating?

Pennsylvania rates THE FISHTOWN SCHOOL LLC STAR 2, on a scale of one to four where four is highest. That tier took effect on December 4, 2025. Keystone STARS measures programme standards such as staff qualifications and learning environment, not inspection outcomes.

Does Pennsylvania record a negative sanction against THE FISHTOWN SCHOOL LLC?

No. The state's provider dataset records no negative sanction against THE FISHTOWN SCHOOL LLC at the time the record was published. That is a single field in a snapshot, not a full compliance history, and it is not the same as a clean inspection record. The licensing inspection detail is at compass.dhs.pa.gov/providersearch.

Does this page show inspection results for THE FISHTOWN SCHOOL LLC?

No. Pennsylvania completes at least one unannounced inspection a year at every licensed provider, and publishes the results through the provider search at compass.dhs.pa.gov/providersearch. Those results are not included here, and there is no open dataset of them, so nothing on this page reflects THE FISHTOWN SCHOOL LLC's inspection history either way. Look the provider up there and read the licensing inspection record.
