The “Director” Jim, has a terrible attitude and is not very professional to parents. Can’t imagine how he talks to his staff. STAY CLEAR OF HIM / THIS PLACE.
Obey HadesApr 14, 2026Staff is great, my 3 1/2 year old is excited to go every day and there's even been times at pickup that he says he wants to stay. Affordable, safe, fun, etc.
JP MericleJul 31, 2025A few weeks ago, I was at a park that they were at for an outing. I paid close attention to how they were because I have a 2.5 yr old and want to put her into a preschool within the year. Let me just say, my child will NEVER go here. The staff were more occupied with their personal conversations than anything else. They weren't watching the children, one child fell off a slide near where I was with my daughter and I was the one to help him up and make sure he was OK. That's just the beginning! Anytime one of the teachers looked up they were putting at least one child in time out. They had a lot of kids sitting in the grass waiting to go back to play for a long time. Too long for my liking. Im not against time out, but the timing is important. It might just be me but if I was a preschool teacher I would be up there playing with them and interacting, and being a role model to show the children how to behave - which I was doing since my daughter was up there playing too. And the worst part. This made me sick.....I am a non violent and calm person.....but if I ever see this woman without children around, I'd probably smack her. A little girl came and asked to use the potty, she told her to wait for 5 minutes and they were leaving soon. She then turned her back to the child and continued talking to her coworker. The girl asked again and the woman's response was "your not stupid, I told you to wait. And you better not have an accident." The little girl was then told to sit with the other kids in time out. She sat there crying. When the teacher went back to her once her conversation was done, she had found that the girl couldn't hold it...it was like 5 minutes after the second time she asked. The woman grabbed her arm and ripped her up off the ground pretty violently and practically dragged her to the bathroom. When they came out she was still being nasty to the little girl. It broke my heart. I feel like I should have done something more proactive than just put up this post. I almost feel guilty being a witness to this. There was another woman at the park that day with her kids too, and she witnessed other mistreatments from the other staff. I wish I had the time to become certified to be a preschool teacher because seeing this makes me wonder how they are treated behind closed doors when they aren't in public. I'd love to be one of the very first people to make an impact and inspire young minds. Poor babies that go here... 😔
Ariel ShifferOct 10, 2023Friday March 18 around 1pm this van from the schoolhouse preschool cut me off in front of their building, a large truck turned out to the left as I proceeded to go straight the driver could careless about oncoming traffic and just turned in. Thankfully his van was empty. As I called the school to let them know of the driving the lady who answered the phone said one second, a man came on and said "I'm the owner the one who cut you off" laughed and hung up. Apparently safety is NOT of their concern. Beware take you money elsewhere!!!
RebeccaMar 20, 2022My child went there from 2 months old until she graduated the pre-k class. I can honestly say they became like family to us. The staff was amazing and treated my daughter like their own, even giving her hugs when she was leaving for the day. She learned so much and was very prepared for kindergarten. Her last day there, I cried because I knew I would miss that daycare and the staff.
Kimberly Fowler-VanderlickDec 5, 2019As a former employee and now having two children attend I can say that I wouldn’t trust my kids anywhere else. They are well taken care of and they are well prepared for school.

Does Pennsylvania record a negative sanction against THE SCHOOLHOUSE DAY CARE CENTER?
- No. The state's provider dataset records no negative sanction against THE SCHOOLHOUSE DAY CARE CENTER at the time the record was published. Does THE SCHOOLHOUSE DAY CARE CENTER accept child care subsidy?
- Yes. THE SCHOOLHOUSE DAY CARE CENTER holds a subsidy agreement with the state. The agreement covers these age groups: Infant and toddler, Preschool, School-age. An agreement means the provider can bill the subsidy programme, not that a funded place is free today. Eligibility is decided by your Early Learning Resource Center, Early Learning Resource Center for Region 11.
Does this page show inspection results for THE SCHOOLHOUSE DAY CARE CENTER?
- No. Pennsylvania completes at least one unannounced inspection a year at every licensed provider, and publishes the results through the provider search at compass.dhs.pa.gov/providersearch. Those results are not included here, and there is no open dataset of them, so nothing on this page reflects THE SCHOOLHOUSE DAY CARE CENTER's inspection history either way. Look the provider up there and read the licensing inspection record.
