Excellent child care. Caring staff. The curriculum is based on the child's progress and development. Safe environment.
Dee SnowAug 7, 2026My child started at Widener at 3 years old. At the time, they were nonverbal and struggling with emotional challenges. After being told by a previous center that they couldn’t meet my child’s needs, I was overwhelmed as a first-time parent and unsure of what to do. From the moment my child started, the administration and teachers partnered with therapists to ensure the right support and resources were in place. My child enrolled in October, and by January was talking! Any concerns I had along the way were always addressed immediately, and I consistently felt heard, supported, and included as a parent. Today, my child is thriving, confident, and talking nonstop (sometimes a little too much! 😊). While there are still occasional toddler meltdowns, they are nothing compared to where we started. Transferring to Widener was one of the best decisions we ever made. The teachers and staff are truly exceptional, and I will always be grateful for the love, patience, and dedication they showed our family. We’re sad to be moving on to kindergarten, but so thankful for everything this amazing preschool has done for us.
TyAug 5, 2026Couldn’t recommend WCDC enough. What an amazing first experience with formal education for my three year old. The WCDC staff has helped my son foster a relationship with school that’s promoted excitement and enthusiasm for lifelong learning. My son comes home every day describing an enriching day full of creativity, loving interactions, and important interpersonal lessons. Thank you, WCDC!

Questions parents ask about WIDENER CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER
Is WIDENER CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER a licensed child care provider in Pennsylvania?
- Yes. WIDENER CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER holds Pennsylvania certificate 100126177-0001, listed as "LICENSED" by the Office of Child Development and Early Learning in Delaware County. The current certificate runs to January 22, 2027. Confirm current standing at compass.dhs.pa.gov/providersearch before enrolling.
What is WIDENER CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER's Keystone STARS rating?
- Pennsylvania rates WIDENER CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER STAR 4, on a scale of one to four where four is highest. That tier took effect on September 30, 2025. Keystone STARS measures programme standards such as staff qualifications and learning environment, not inspection outcomes.
Does Pennsylvania record a negative sanction against WIDENER CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER?
- No. The state's provider dataset records no negative sanction against WIDENER CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER at the time the record was published. That is a single field in a snapshot, not a full compliance history, and it is not the same as a clean inspection record. The licensing inspection detail is at compass.dhs.pa.gov/providersearch.
Does WIDENER CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER accept child care subsidy?
- Yes. WIDENER CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER holds a subsidy agreement with the state. The agreement covers these age groups: Preschool. An agreement means the provider can bill the subsidy programme, not that a funded place is free today. Eligibility is decided by your Early Learning Resource Center, Early Learning Resource Center for Region 15.
Does this page show inspection results for WIDENER CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER?
- No. Pennsylvania completes at least one unannounced inspection a year at every licensed provider, and publishes the results through the provider search at compass.dhs.pa.gov/providersearch. Those results are not included here, and there is no open dataset of them, so nothing on this page reflects WIDENER CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER's inspection history either way. Look the provider up there and read the licensing inspection record.
