  • I was debating on whether or not to leave this review. When my son started here in August he absolutely loved it! I signed him up because they said they would work with his IEP since they have a contract with EI and have therapists in house. My son was doing amazing but somehow towards the end of the year he started having some odd behaviors. One of them being biting which I’ve never seen him do. And I promise that I can respectfully admit when he would have behaviors but these weren’t the ones I was used to. Usually it was elopement or redirection. He’s not necessarily aggressive but he used to throw things only when people would raise their voice at him and I noticed it started happening in the school. I don’t want to throw accusations towards the teachers and say they were yelling but I know my son and I know this is how he reacts when this would happen. On his last week somehow he had a biting incident. They gave me a warning that one more time and he would be “suspended”. And then he managed “to do it again” the very next day. It felt off. It felt fabricated and intentional to kick him out. And on top of it I found out they weren’t even working with his IEP because he wasn’t placed “through assignment” but because of my choice. Whatever that means. They asked me to pick him up and in the same breathe hit me with a final bill (over 4K) to pay up before he returns. Dealing with Nina was awful. I felt gaslit into thinking they were “working with me” to pay this bill but she kept threatening to send it to collections. I had to leave my job to stay home with my son and her consistent threat was making my mental health spiral until we finally decided to swipe a credit card to get her out of our lives. To WVCA - please hire someone who’s equipped with empathy and has better customer service because this current director is not it.

  • Nina can't even answer the phone politely. She is straight up rude all the time to everyone. No wonder why they can't keep the good teachers there

  • My Son went to WVCA for pre kindergarten, the staff was wonderful and he was very prepared for Kindergarten. They go above and beyond to help the kids with special needs.

  • Nina is so rude and disrespectful this morning I come to drop my son off at round 8:40-8:50 and I stop to ask her if I could bring him in through the main door she goes on and rudely tell me I can’t park my car where it was and I a need to move it now because I’m holding up traffic I said ok I was just asking a question .so I go park and their was a parent their already waiting to be buzzed in so she gets buzzed in and my child runs in so as a parent I go after my child when I get him she start screaming and yelling at me to get out the school and she and buzzed me in so I have to go out and wait to get buzzed in I said ok and walked out as I walked out I said she very very rude so now I’m out side and she walking fast to get to the to the exit I was at and started screaming at me telling me that I need to wait out here for some one to buzz me in and I can’t just walked in when some comes in also that I have to pay my child tuition in full before he can come back in I said that not what was said when I enroll him (tuition' is close to $7000for an all day) then she proceeded to tell me their other daycare for him that I can go to since I clearly can’t afford for him to go she also stated that he will not get anything that he has there back and he no longer welcome back their sue rude and was very very unprofessional and I’m do not recommend anybody to put their child here because if that’s how your talking to the parent I imagine how they talk to the kids

  • Absolutely amazing school for my daughter. Teachers, therapists, and the director are all so dedicated to all of the children at WVCA. Truly a gem of a school!

  • My children went here. So unprofessional. Nina was honestly disgusting to deal with. She outcasted my children constantly and harassed me when walking to my car. I told her on a Thursday that my kids would no longer attend the after care program and the following day she made my kids sit in her office until I picked them up trying to tell me I cancelled aftercare when that wasnt the case for that day, it was supposed to start that following Monday. She was rude to both of my kids and constantly sent them home. My final straw was her telling me my child could not return the next day unless I paid the Kindergarten tuition ($5,000) in full when I was told a month prior he received a full scholarship!

Does Pennsylvania record a negative sanction against WYOMING VALLEY CHILDRENS ASSOCIATION?

No. The state's provider dataset records no negative sanction against WYOMING VALLEY CHILDRENS ASSOCIATION at the time the record was published. Does WYOMING VALLEY CHILDRENS ASSOCIATION accept child care subsidy?

Yes. WYOMING VALLEY CHILDRENS ASSOCIATION holds a subsidy agreement with the state. The agreement covers these age groups: Infant and toddler, Preschool, School-age. An agreement means the provider can bill the subsidy programme, not that a funded place is free today. Eligibility is decided by your Early Learning Resource Center, Early Learning Resource Center for Region 11.

Does this page show inspection results for WYOMING VALLEY CHILDRENS ASSOCIATION?

No. Pennsylvania completes at least one unannounced inspection a year at every licensed provider, and publishes the results through the provider search at compass.dhs.pa.gov/providersearch. Those results are not included here, and there is no open dataset of them, so nothing on this page reflects WYOMING VALLEY CHILDRENS ASSOCIATION's inspection history either way. Look the provider up there and read the licensing inspection record.
