  • This was my first time leaving my little one with anyone besides family and I just have to say, my experience was top notch! I can't express what it feels like as a first time mom knowing your child is in the care of people who truly care and go above and beyond even when you know you can be a little high maintenance! Even though we were only there for a year due to moving, I would highly recommended The Nurturing Nook to anyone who is looking for childcare. The teachers are all so caring and attentive and Ms. Nicole is more than accommodating when we were locked out of our checking account and couldn't pay tuition on time for weeks. That goes a long way and we were always treated as family and not just clients.

  • My daughter started at The Nurturing Nook when she was 2 years old, and it has been amazing to watch her growth and progress during her time there overall the past two years. From daycare to now transitioning into the preschool class downstairs, the development we’ve seen has been incredible. Mrs. Jocelyn and Ms. J are wonderful teachers who genuinely care about the children and their learning. They are intentional about teaching important skills such as letters, colors, sound words, reading, and writing their names & much more all while creating a nurturing and supportive environment. Every day, my daughter comes home excited to tell me what she learned in preschool which speaks volumes about the positive experience she is having. As a parent, there is so much comfort in knowing your child is in a place that truly cares about their well-being, growth, and development. My husband and I are so grateful for the care, attention, and dedication the staff & the owner at The Nurturing Nook pour into the children each day. I highly recommend them to any family looking for a caring and educational environment for their little ones.

  • My son, who is almost 2, has been going here since he was four months old. I’ve always felt comfortable sending him here. I could always tell he is loved and well cared for. Now that he is talking, I am even more certain - he loves his school, friends, and teachers.

  • My infant has been attending The Nurturing Nook since she was 10 weeks old, and we are so pleased with everything we have been seeing. The infant program is on the smaller side and it's truly so nice as my daughter recieves a lot of attention and love, and I know she is being cared for. One of my favorite things about this center is the communication. They use two different apps and will always call with any questions or concerns. Ms. Adrianna does amazing with keeping us informed and connected throughout the day and we look forward to our daily pictures that she sends. In the short time that we have been here all the staff are so kind and helpful, being on the smaller side a handful of our favorite teachers did move on to bigger roles in their dreams but we understand that happens from time to time, and we are overall pleased with the ladies in the infant room and all the rooms. One other major thing that was important to my husband and I was that the staff are all CPR certified and they also stick to a state curriculum, so I just know my daughter is learning while she is there! Overall we are happy with the communication, organization, and overall care that we get for our infant, thank you!

  • My child has been going to the Nurturing Nook now for 3 months now but before that he attended Nicole's other location in Barrington for a whole year and honestly you can see all the positive impacts these schools have had on him. At just a young 3 years old he knows his name, his colors, his letter sounds, and learning how to be independent; which was all huge to me when getting ready to pick a center. Nurturing Nook really focuses on their curriculum and the Preschool/Pre-K ladies do such an amazing job making the weeks fun and engaging for all children. They also focus on helping the children learn and write their letters, and so much more!! They have a cooking day where the children and teachers make food together, they make sensory stuff like play-doh, and they take care of my kiddo when I can't. My favorite part of the day is when my little guy gets back into my arms and tells me all about the fun he has had and what he did for the day. The center also really strives on making fun days for the kiddos whether that be a pizza party or even fun little spirit weeks where my little guy can wear jammies! I also really love how every single teacher and parent that I come across within the center is extremely nice and welcoming! I would for sure continue to recommend this place to anyone who is just looking for a place that is smaller, welcoming and reliable!

  • After nearly two years of enrollment for my two children, I must regrettably share that this has been one of the least satisfactory daycare experiences we have had.My infant frequently returned home in soiled diapers, which was a recurring issue. The facility experienced extremely high staff turnover, leading to inconsistent caregiving and a lack of structured routines. This directly impacted my child’s behavior, including incidents of biting, which I attribute in part to the frequent changes in classroom staff. In nearly two years, I met the owner only twice—once for each annual graduation event. She appeared uninvolved with families except in matters related to payments. I strongly recommend against cash payments unless you meticulously retain all receipts. The facility’s receipt book was often illegible, rendering it ineffective. As a single mother of two, I encountered a billing dispute where I was informed of an alleged 8-week arrears despite regular biweekly payments. Although I provided bank withdrawal screenshots as proof (missing only one payment due to an unnoticed processing delay), the issue caused significant distress. Requests for security camera footage on payment days were denied, with various excuses provided. The owner committed to attending several family events but consistently failed to appear.Parents received frequent emails about classroom closures—particularly in the infant and toddler rooms—due to insufficient staffing or facility issues. These disruptions repeatedly placed my employment at risk. The center frequently requested payments for minor activities, such as pizza parties ($6 per child) or applying sunscreen. For example, upon my infant’s transition to the toddler room at age 1.5, I was asked to pay $6 for a pizza event, which seemed disproportionate given the portion size. Due to staff transitions, my child’s belongings were routinely misplaced or not returned, including over eight water bottles, several jackets, and a sleeping bag. The 3-5 classroom downstairs stands out positively. Teachers Mrs. Jocelyn and Miss J have been consistently present since my enrollment began. They provided exceptional care and support for my children. I cannot recommend this daycare to other families based on these systemic issues. Prospective parents should thoroughly vet facilities for stability, transparency, and family engagement before enrolling.
