Barnwell Smart Start Childcare Plus

PSA Barnwell County Parents/Grandparents/Guardian/Caregivers/ETC... ABSOLUTELY DO NOT let any children go to Smart Start Daycare on Marlboro Ave in Barnwell unless you wanna chance the child being abused, it covered up, ignored, and blamed on their sibling or other children if they don't have a sib! They claim things like "WE DO NOT inflict corporal punishment in any manner on any child"; "use any strategy that causes emotional damage"; "use any strategy that threatens, intimidates, or forces a child"; "the following policies and procedures are set forth to provide children with a clean, safe, and comfortable environment..."; "BSS Childcare will be acknowledged as a trailblazer in providing the highest quality care..."; "Barnwell Smart start provides high quality child Care by creating a safe and nurturing environment..."; or "where all children can experience success in a safe and nurturing environment"! ALL of this is THEIR words on their website, and EVERY BIT OF IT IS LIES! They not inflict corporal punishment but they sure do ABUSE your kids and others cover it up. They ABSOLUTELY DO cause emotional damage! They do use startegies that threaten and intimidate the kids! How is ABUSING children, covering up the abuse, deleting evidence of the abuse, keeping your mouth shut, allowing the abuse to happen and continue, not firing abusive employees the SECOND you even SUSPECT much less know, covering up abuse, and/or turning a blind eye to the abus providing a safe amd comfortable environment, the highest quality of care, or providing a nurturing environment?! If that is what that is then something is seriously freaking wrong to say the least!!!! An investigation was done and then charges brought on MULTIPLE counts against MULTIPLE children against MULTIPLE teachers one being Jessica, and also charges were brought for destroying video evidence against the owner Cherise! My two twin nephews used to go to daycare at this facility up until a couple months ago. They were 3 years old at the time that they stopped going. My nephews would come home from this daycare with minor injuries on at least a weekly bases. Their teacher would always have some explanation, and almost always it had something to do with the other hurting the one with the injury. Which the family believed because what siblings dont fight! So firstly, no one would ever fill out incident reports like they're supposed to no matter how minor or anything, and no one ever called their parents theirselves first. The parents would see the injury and would have to reach out to the teacher themselves first! Secondly, the have had several complaints including abuse and neglect made against the center. Thirdly, the owner has been "caught" deleting footage on multiple occasions when she would somehow get wind the police department was coming to investigate an allegation, and would always have some excuse why the footage wouldnt be there! Which this time there was evidence that she deleted some of the footage. So she was finally able to be charged with it. So not only does she hire people that abuses children she continues to let them work there after the incidents of abuse, covers it up, doesnt say anything to law enforcement CPS or anyone, turns a blind eye to the abuse and neglect, and she deletes the video evidence! Clearly someone that we parents/guardians are supposed to be trusting with our most precious blessings and thats supposed to be keeping them safe, happy, and healthy while in her care endorses abuse and neglect of children. Their teacher had apparently been abusing at least one of them for quite some time, and other teachers had been abusing other children as well. Which was all covered up by the owner. Then the other employees that knew were complicit by not saying nothing and turning a blind eye in my opinion.
