Carousel Early Childhood Center

Just signed my baby boy up to start here. Deposit was very fair. Staff is very nice and helpful. Someone is always readily available and their security check in/out process seems super secure and safe. Every detail was asked for on their part regarding baby boy so no stone seems left unturned. Grateful for this facility to take care of our son so I can get back to work and make a living to support our family. Looking forward to becoming part of the Carousel family

My son went here and now my daughter is. Wonderful people and I feel confident that my daughter is safe. Also, since they aren't just a daycare they don't just plop the kids in front of a TV. They actually teach them. The last year my son was there before kindergarten they gave him homework to prepare him for big boy school! Thought that was going above and beyond as a daycare.

Carousel is one of the best daycares in West Ashley to send your most precious gifts - your children. As a teacher myself, I understand where my children go each day to learn about themselves, their peers, and the world around them is of utmost importance. Not only must a great daycare have excellent, thought-provoking lesson plans that stimulate your child’s mind, senses, and emotions, but the teachers and assistants must also love your children even on a “terrible two’s” worst temper tantrum kind of moment. Furthermore, an excellent daycare must have a safe, conducive-to-learning environment. Carousel has just that. From its primary-colored walls and books galore to its new classroom phones, and even to its entry-pad door system, this facility is safe and abounds in a positive atmosphere. Every day in each classroom, teachers are shaping minds in the core subjects: math, science, social studies, and language arts. For instance, teachers read to infants, put together puzzles with one year-olds, introduce circle time to two year-olds, guide artwork activities with three year-olds, and go on field trips with four year-olds. Firetrucks visit during Fire Awareness Week; Tri-County Therapists stop by to work one-on-one with children who have been identified as needing extra help by their teachers; special summer field trips are planned to keep the four year-olds busy with activities both fun and educational so they can still have an exciting summer while their parents work. What is absolutely the best about Carousel, though, is how the teachers and staff have become like family. Parents are not seen simply as a paycheck; instead, moms and dads are seen as a team, working in conjunction with the teachers to better the education and development of their children. I am so grateful for the teachers and assistants at Carousel. They, under the extraordinary leadership of Ms. Irene, make my children’s future brighter every day.

My son has gone to Carousel since he was 8 weeks old. He'll be leaving for Kindergarten next year, and we will be sad to leave! All of his teachers/caregivers there through the years have genuinely cared for his learning and development. Any concerns I have had were quickly taken care of by the staff. The directors are constantly working to upgrade the facility with books, technology, classroom supplies, and programs. If I were to have any more children, Carousel would be my first choice!

My son has been attending Carousel since February of 2012. I was referred to this daycare by two neighbors who are educators. I visited several other places prior to visiting Carousel; the other places were newer and had more expensive toys and outdoor play equipment. I chose Carousel because the staff is amazing! If you are one of those moms who would say "well I never," this is not the place for your child. The women who run this place have been here since the doors opened over 20 years ago. A few of the teachers have been there just as long- and now their daughters teach there too. As it happens, the daughters are my son's teachers. I know that Karen & Sophie treat my child like they do their own; that is worth so much more to me than fancy toys & slides.
