My children have been attending Dream Preparatory Academy since around January 2026. During this time, there have been several incidents where my children came home with bruises and scratches. At first, I tried to be understanding and assumed these injuries may have happened during normal playtime. However, as a mother, something never felt right to me. The final incident occurred when my daughter came home with a badly busted lip. It was painful for her and severe enough to cause serious concern. I spoke with the Executive Director, Tempestt Dozier, regarding the incident. I was told that it did not happen at the daycare. I then asked if the cameras could be reviewed, but access was denied. I do plan to continue pursuing having the footage reviewed. In addition, I have personally overheard staff speaking to and handling children in ways that I felt were too aggressive. As a young mother with limited resources, it has been difficult finding reliable childcare while still working to provide for my family, which is part of why I continued giving the daycare opportunities to improve. At this point, my children will no longer be attending Dream Preparatory Academy. My priority is protecting my children, and I intend to advocate to ensure that no other child is harmed while in the care of this facility and its staff.
Faith MansellMay 7, 2026As the year ends this place is truly a dream! They definitely teach the children as they come home and recite their senses, numbers, and so much more! Also, I love the fact that they have added a male role model in the academy he is such a wonderful teacher and is very passionate with my children!!! He gets the five stars. I recommend this place for any parents looking for their child to be in a preschool where they will learn and have fun
X SmithDec 23, 2025My first daycare experience in 8 years. What I thought would be a great experience turned into a horrible one. My children attended the school for 4 days. On the first day the infant room appeared closed. Lights were off & no staff was present. My nanny was 5-10 min late due to a traffic incident, confused by the misleading sign on the gate that says hold the doorbell to unlock she went to the other side of the school & back. Making her more late. I was billed a $150 late fee & my son’s diaper bag was not given to my nanny. I was told by the owner bc he had 2 bottles remaining for the day I didn’t need to bring any the next day . When my son came home I noticed a small bump on his lip. On Tuesday the infant room appeared closed again. After dropping my kids off & having to leave my infant with the 2yr old classroom , I received a call an hour later to bring bottles bc his from yesterday were never refrigerated. Causing such an inconvenience that I asked for the late fees to be waived. I also mentioned my son’s lip , and stated I figured it was from a fall with him learning to walk. The response I received from the owner was shocking, she lacked empathy, accused me of insinuating her staff hurt my child , and I was told the late fees from the first day would not be waived. & that she didn’t feel our partnership would work out. Day 3 & 4 I worked out of town & was later informed my infants voice was hoarse. Which only happens if he cries for extended periods of time. Day 4 midday I received an email saying my kids were terminated for violation of parent code of conduct. I ask to see said policy & the only thing in alignment with my actions was that I communicated my concerns via the parent app which apparently your not supposed to do. I felt helpless & frustrated having to find last minute care for my children & having paid almost 1k in the first week for nothing. As of yet I have received zero communication in regard to reimbursement for the 5th day or part of the registration fee reimbursed by abc voucher.
Jernae WebbNov 3, 2024My daughter attended Dream for only 2 weeks before I had enough of the disrespect & neglect. Dream only gets a one star bc of how amazing my daughter’s teacher was, however the owner/Director of Dream was not so pleasant to deal with. I’d voiced my concerns with my daughter being picked up with wet/damp pee clothing on. As if she had been wearing them for some time. Instead my child was the blame when she was in Dream’s care & had changing clothes provided. No, accountability was ever knowledge on Dream’s behave only blame & aggressive tone. The Director’s tone/attitude has been nasty when voicing my concerns. She has snatched things out of my daughter’s hand, speak to her in an aggressive tone & matter. My daughter isn’t being raised in an aggressive environment so she feared the Director. I don’t feel safe leaving my daughter at Dream due to the lack of & neglect. Put your heart into caring for these children & stop looking at every kids as another $285 or $250 payment. There’s enough of those types of daycares around & us parents need to be able to trust our kids are 100% well taken care of in your establishment. Please do better every parent isn’t trying to cause a problem when voicing their concerns regarding their child.
Kaila SullivanOct 29, 2024Ms. Tempestt helped my daughter spell her name when she was just 3 years old AND even introduced her to math! It was such a joy and she thoroughly enjoyed the program. We’ve since relocated and now she’s way ahead of her peers. Super proud and love where this program is going.
NeNe TerriJul 12, 2024Dream is literally a dream come true! I was searching high and low for a childcare and finally found a childcare that genuinely love children and have a learning to help children grow and develop. The Director Miss. Dozier is so awesome! Her background speaks for itself but character speaks louder for her! She is so loving and caring! She has loved on my baby since she entered her care. The teachers that have been selected to care for the children are so supportive, energetic, and have a deep love for teaching the kids. Mrs. Diane and Mrs. Trina are such amazing teachers, I wouldn’t choose any other teachers to love on them babies! Dream Academy is an amazing program! Excellent program for children! Choose DREAM!
