Hickory Tickory Tots Learning Center & Day Care

Wouldn’t recommend. Highly recommend Excel Academy in Fountain Inn over this place. We had many issues with the local Hickory Tots option. Zero structure, constant problems, son being choked, etc. He’s 5 year old boy. They need structure or kids will run around getting into trouble. They seemed to blame everything on our parenting, and lack of consistency. Our two older boys get straight “A”s in school. Our 5 year old had very few problems at his school because they have structure and are well educated on children. So it was obvious the problems were a facilitator/ facility issue, not a parenting issue. Young workers trying to control young kids. He did well with one teacher, but she left and that’s when issues became more prevalent. Teachers have No patience. No ability to redirect, distract, discipline, etc. All the things you need if you are in career like this. Can’t count the number of times our boy came home with bruises. We get it, boys are rough, but to have many new bruises almost daily with zero said to us on how he got them is ridiculous. Since moving our 5 year old to Excel we have had no problems. He loves going. They are structured. The teachers actually care, and do lots of fun things with kids. Pricing is about the same. When we moved to Hickory Tavern we were very reluctant to send our son to this daycare from what we observed when we visited. One Teacher was outside smoking, another was drinking a monster. I can understand getting frustrated with children when you are itching for another smoke. Just felt very rough there, and the children seemed to be running wild. Unfortunately, we didn’t have choice. Thankfully we found Excel Academy! If you have choice we suggest Excel! I believe the Hickory Tots is only still open due to many not having a better option or choice close by.
