The owner unenrolled my child for not being fully potty trained at only 3 years old. Gave us one week of notice in the middle of the school year… Other admin and teachers were terribly rude and impatient (except Cathy! An angel on earth!) The fish rots from the head…
Rebecca JenkinsJan 11, 2026The school building itself is nice and well-maintained. Classrooms are well-appointed with lots of activities for learning and play. But most-importantly the staff are all lovely, engaged, and caring. Every teacher my child has had has gotten to know her so well and treated her as an individual. Additionally, all the administration knows her, and knows how she's doing at any given time. They are all very responsive and open to questions. We like Primrose because our child is truly loved and respected there.
Victoria VoisinNov 25, 2024I have had 3 friends kicked out of this school in the last 12 months. 3 professional and successful families in the community. And the children are the ones that are going to have long lasting problems, losing their friends, losing consistency. It's terrible. It's probably a blessing in disguise that these children will go elsewhere, but it's still awful. I'm also concerned that there are issued with diversity not being respected at this school. People are so scared of retaliation that they do not speak up. I am horrified that this school is under its current management.
Chelsea SmithAug 6, 2024Our daughters (2 and 4) were punished for a mistake my husband and I made in allowing the chef to watch our children one time after securing her on a FB babysitter page. We unfortunately overlooked this policy that was included in the handbook we signed 8 months prior. We were all released without discussion or warning. Throughout our time, the teachers were overall wonderful with the exception of one who was fired due to abuse. We loved the other families and children. However, communication was poor, policies were at times rigid (could not allow your child to bring their own sleep sack, no breastmilk after 12 months, etc), we observed significant teacher and staff turnover, and have also seen other families kicked out without notice. We originally felt like family yet at the end we realized we are all sadly just numbers. Childcare is scarce in Greenville and there will always be waitlists. Primrose overall has an excellent curriculum and model, yet be prepared to walk on eggshells and kicked out at a moment's notice.
MC McclainMay 12, 2024Primrose started out strong 5 years ago and ended as a major disappointment. Unfortunately after making an honest mistake of allowing a staff member to watch our girls, we were let go. There was no warning or second chance. We had no prior offense or behavioral concern. We failed to see this in the handbook. Prior to being let go we watched several teachers get fired--including an abusive (physical, verbal, emotional) teacher in our oldest daughter's class. 2022 was the start of the fall with consistent teacher turnovers and lack of communication. It has worsened yet our children developed friendships and that is why we stayed. Be prepared to be let go if you make a single mistake. It has become so business driven and less personal when we started. At the end of the day you and your children are just a number.
