  • Our experience with this daycare center was extremely disappointing and frustrating. The cost of care was high, but the level of professionalism and communication did not match the price we were paying. Communication throughout our time there was poor. We often felt like staff only reached out to report negative behaviors and never shared positive moments or accomplishments about our child. We would receive multiple behavior reports daily documenting every negative interaction, but almost never heard anything encouraging or positive. It became emotionally exhausting feeling like our child was only being viewed through a negative lens. There also seemed to be major communication issues between shifts. Information from first shift did not appear to carry over to second shift, and vice versa. Our child was experiencing behavioral challenges, and we were actively trying to address them, but we later realized important concerns and situations were not consistently being communicated because staff members were not always informed. We attended a meeting with the center where staff seemed supportive and willing to work with us. Following that meeting, we immediately started exploring different therapies and supports to help our child be successful in daycare. Unfortunately, before we even had the opportunity to get services started or give interventions time to work, our child was removed from care. Many of the reports we received described our child as intentionally violent or throwing objects directly at people. From our perspective, some of these descriptions felt exaggerated or inaccurate. At the developmental stage our child was at, he was not even capable of basic activities like playing catch consistently, making some of these claims difficult for us to understand or reconcile with what we know about him. Other ongoing concerns included frequent staff turnover, noticeable staff drama, impatient interactions, staff confusing our child’s name with other children, and even confusing parents with one another. These repeated mistakes made us feel like our family was not truly known or valued. We also observed what felt like favoritism toward certain children, which created an uncomfortable environment. Additionally, the director holding another job often appeared to impact their availability and involvement with the center, which contributed to the communication and consistency issues we experienced. Every child deserves patience, consistency, and support—especially when behavioral concerns arise. We left feeling like our child was labeled instead of supported, and our family was left without the partnership we expected from a childcare provider.
