Don't let the 5 stars fool you, it's not worth it. The books are outdated, sports teams sell every game, the hallways/classrooms still smell despite cleaning, and overall, I recommend looking for better options in the Tennessee area.
marosJun 11, 2026Please stay away from this school, it is very unchristian like but they call it a Christian school. The school charges for everything you do, and the campus is very small. The walls are decaying and the roofs are leaking. The teachers will be very rude to your children and they are uneducated. Please don’t fall for this trap. Also they overcharge for tuition and swear they use the money for the school knowing everything goes to the church and the teachers. I know it’s a church but the school needs help.
You’ll never know whoMar 17, 2026We love this school. My children have been here for 3 years. The teachers love the children. The curriculum is rigorous and my children are progressing very well. Aside from the biblical priority, we wanted a school that didn't provide tablets or laptops for the course work, and we wanted our children to learn cursive, too. Many schools (we toured (private and public)) did not teach cursive in the classroom and students were issued tablets. The school is very much a ministry of the church and is christ-focused (as it should be). The tuition is the most affordable for private schools in the area. I highly recommend Central Baptist.
TR ROct 23, 2025Very happy with this school. No school is perfect and there are occasional hiccups, but I love that the teachers really care about the kids and our principal is wonderful. We changed schools during 2020 and do not regret our choice. I would recommend for those seeking a Christian school for their children.
Sarah MOct 5, 2025I wish I could give this a 0 star review. This school is very bad. The school is badly outdated and NEEDS to be remodeled. The ceilings are leaky and the carpet is moldy. The teachers are too strict. The dress code is insanely strict for both boys and girls. The bathrooms are RIDICULOUSLY small. There are barely any extracurricular activities. There is no football. There are ZERO clubs. There is NO prom, only Homecoming and Junior/Senior Banquet. You cannot perform any type of dancing including ballroom. The food is okay. For a Christian school, the students are not very Christian-like, along with being racist 😞. The school is very poor and can barely afford any new books, for example the Spanish textbook is outdated and came out in the 1990's 😬. There are only two buses and they're half-size. They only recently got laptops after having 20 box computers for the past 10+ years. The choir is mediocre, along with band. The sports teams do horrible at every game. They took away the fit PE teacher for an overweight one. The school gives out WAY too much homework even on days when they're not supposed to (Wednesday). There is no elevator in the office building, limiting accessibility for those with mobility challenges. The college recruitment options are severely limited, with only Pensacola Christian College and Bob Jones University visiting the campus. The school should be better for the tuition the parents have to pay. I went to this school for a very long time and it disappoints me how stuck in the past they are. Please stay away from this school and find a better one. If Mr. Crutchfield sees this please change this school for the better. Amen. 🙏🏻

Is Central Baptist School a licensed child care provider in Tennessee?
- Yes. Central Baptist School holds Tennessee licence TN-2164, listed as "DOE APPROVED" by the Department of Human Services, Child Care Services in Shelby County. Confirm current standing on the state's child care provider map at onedhs.tn.gov before enrolling.
What is Central Baptist School's star rating in Tennessee?

What are Central Baptist School's hours?
- The state record lists 8:00 AM-3:00 PM. Tennessee publishes the daily window but not which days it applies to, and hours change without the licence record changing, so call ahead.

- The provider reports No Dogs, No Pets, No Smoking/Vaping, No Cats, Wheelchair Accessible. These are self-reported to the state rather than verified at inspection, so confirm anything your child's health depends on directly.
Does this page show inspection results for Central Baptist School?
- No. Tennessee publishes a report card of licensing citations for each provider, and those are not included here, so nothing on this page reflects Central Baptist School's inspection history either way. Look the provider up on the state's child care provider map at onedhs.tn.gov and read its report card.
