  • We love being members at the GAC! There is never a shortage of things for us to do whether we are in the mood to work out, swim, walk, or join a fitness class. The staff is always so friendly and welcoming as well!

  • I joined this gym only a few days ago and Im already concerned about sanitation here. The mens locker room by the pool is filthy. I went on day 1 at about 11: 00 am and there was what looked like cookies crumbled up all over the floor. I figured “maybe this just happened”, I went the next day and it was still there.... along with someones dirty, discarded underwear against the wall under bench that had also been there from the day before. I went again this morning....still there, thats 3 days! Then I noticed the floor going into the locker room from the poolside. It is Disgusting. Don't dare look at the hot tub when it is turned off unless you want to realize that if you use it you will be marinating in grey water. Suddenly I found myself looking around and realize that disrepair is everywhere. Ive been a member of 9-10 gyms in my lifetime all over this country and Ive never witnessed this level of apathy. And this is January 4th. 4 days after the day you KNOW the influx of new member will be huge. If you are ever going to clean the place, now would have been the time. If you have to, increase the membership rates to make it happen do it. At a minimum, just clean this place up. It is obvious that the mgmt doesnt care. Im not sure if Ill continue my membership. Its simply disgusting.. Update 4/15/26 GAC also has the most apathetic lifeguards Ive ever seen. 75% of the time the one on duty is picking at his nails or staring at his lap while the other sits at a table staring at a phone or reading a book. Dudes….drowning is often silent. And the number of kids and elderly in those pools is high. You are getting paid. Keep your eyes in the swimmers. Also, when I thought the bathrooms couldn’t get worse, the stench these days is horrible. They make these little machines you can push around and the clean floor surfaces such as these. Buy one, use it. This isn’t Memphis, don’t ignore the filth, disrepair and apathy like it is. If things don’t improve, my next update will be photos that will likely churn your stomach.

  • Manager Michael might be the most disrespectful person I have ever met. He came in a one of the sassiest moods I have ever seen from a man to the basketball court and threatened everyone’s membership if it wasn’t turned to half court. Everyone in the basketball court voted for full court. He did not handle it well. The amount of business that he has driven out of here is insane. He should be let go honestly.

  • We had a wonderful experience visiting and signing up for a membership for my wife and myself at the Germantown Athletic Club. Erica guided us on a detailed and informative tour of the facility to show us all the amenities and services that this fitness club provides. I am very impressed with the weight room, indoor track, fitness classes, indoor and outdoor pools, cardio and strength training equipment, basketball court and the Racquetball Court. There are many other benefits and services available including workout areas, group fitness classes, spacious locker rooms, gymnasium, child care for children and personal trainers to assist in helping you to reach your goals. I highly recommend Germantown Athletic Club for your physical fitness and health needs,

Questions parents ask about Germantown Athletic Club

Is Germantown Athletic Club a licensed child care provider in Tennessee?

Yes. Germantown Athletic Club holds Tennessee licence TN-1012, listed as "LICENSED" by the Department of Human Services, Child Care Services in Shelby County. Confirm current standing on the state's child care provider map at onedhs.tn.gov before enrolling.

What is Germantown Athletic Club's star rating in Tennessee?

Tennessee publishes no star rating for Germantown Athletic Club. A provider without a rating has not been assessed under the Star-Quality programme rather than been rated poorly, and it is licensed and inspected either way.

What are Germantown Athletic Club's hours?

The state record lists 8:00 AM-8:00 PM. Tennessee publishes the daily window but not which days it applies to, and hours change without the licence record changing, so call ahead.

What are the site rules at Germantown Athletic Club?

The provider reports No Dogs, No Pets, No Smoking/Vaping, No Cats, Wheelchair Accessible. These are self-reported to the state rather than verified at inspection, so confirm anything your child's health depends on directly.

Does this page show inspection results for Germantown Athletic Club?

No. Tennessee publishes a report card of licensing citations for each provider, and those are not included here, so nothing on this page reflects Germantown Athletic Club's inspection history either way. Look the provider up on the state's child care provider map at onedhs.tn.gov and read its report card.
