I was going to leave two stars, but will leave one for the 1.1 days my kid spent at that daycare. During the tour and application, I explained he uses pull ups and needs to get into routine in a new place to potty. I was shown there were two price tiers for potty trained and not, which shouldn’t have been an issue regarding a $20 price difference if he has accidents. Okay, that is fine. We then signed up and I was told when I dropped off and picked up on the first day that I “needed” to bring “diapers with removable tabs” the next day. I didn’t think that meant pull ups with Velcro, so I went out bought two packs a diapers with tabs, aka diapers, and brought them the next day. Well, after one whole day of expecting a four year old to learn a potty routine in a new place along with all the other nuances of learning how to communicating with new people (he can be shy), I got a call that he pooped in his pull up and he can no longer stay there. The director mentioned that I thought diapers which obviously makes it seem like he is not potty trained at all. It turns out she didn’t know I was asked to bring them by an employee - I was literally told that it makes things easier to change him at certain times - so I think that was a misunderstanding, but I looked like an idiot and wasted $20 on diapers that we haven’t used in a long time. So on top of paying a $20 application fee, they got paid for a week of care from the state voucher which is $200-$220. And I am out for two packs of diapers. Of course now I am stuck without daycare and cannot work so obviously this whole experience was a huge inconvenience and going back to square one because they couldn’t give him a chance to get into routine is really devastating. But it’s great they can make almost $250 for doing one day of daycare! Like I said, the more I think about it… easy to make money off of signing kids up and pushing them away for any inconvenience. Something I did not mention during the tour is that Crispin has an IEP so he is supposed to be accommodated technically, but I have seen him at other programs and schools acclimate quickly that I didn’t think it would be an issue. Just one day to kick a kid out is ridiculous after taking a week of pay!
Stacy LitzJun 5, 2026Our twins have been going there for about six months and we love the daycare. And of course Logan and Madalynn love it too. Thanks to all the Staff..
Lance MurrayMar 27, 2026My son has been going here for about two years now and he loves it! All of the staff here are amazing and it shows that they have a true love for what they do. They do a lot of arts & crafts, learning activities, dancing/singing and playing. They also help with potty training when your child is ready. I couldn’t ask for a better daycare for my son to attend. We are forever grateful for the love and care they provide here!
Rikki RamseyJan 6, 2024We loved small steps daycare. Our daughter loved going and we only left because we moved. I couldn't recommend this daycare enough! They really take good care of the children
Brooke BuckleyJun 10, 2021Both of my youngest kids have been attending small steps for quite some time. They both love it and I know my kids are in great hands when I'm working. Rebecca has always been kind and understanding. They do great activities and really help the kids learn. Best daycare around
Brandy HargreaveNov 12, 2019Best child care facility. Everybody is super kind and very good with the kids. Our little one has grown so much in both learning and social skills thanks to the teachers' boundless efforts. Miss Christy is an absolute inspiration.
