There is not a better childcare in all of the Tri-Cities. I’m not exaggerating. My son starts kindergarten today, but started at Sonshine when he was 1. My 2 year old has also been going there the past several months. We toured half a dozen or more daycares before putting our children at Sonshine. Living in Johnson City, it was inconvenient to drive to Elizabethton to drop kids in the morning then back to Johnson City for work etc BUT that’s how worth it this place is. We chose to do that when there were spots available in Johnson City. Every other daycare has open concepts with little dividers and tons of noise all day. They also have extremely high turnover rates. From the day my oldest started over 4 years ago at Sonshine, the staff is 95% the exact same because the owner Shelly treats her staff with so much respect. They are religious and faith based and pour the spirit into your children every single day. I have never left there wondering if my children were safe and abundantly loved all day long. They are thorough, clean, HUGE rooms with so much for each age and doors that close versus an open divider wall concept. Each member of the staff greets you with the biggest smile and drop off and pick up. I would put them up against any childcare in the United States!

It was out of our way but it was well worth it. It is very clean and secure. I appreciate all the security measures that they had in place. I had always recommended Sonshine Children's Academy And will always recommend Sonshine children's academy 💚💚💚💚💚💚

They are all kind and so loving. They keep me informed with everything that’s going on. I love the newsletter each month with all the important information listed. I highly recommend this school!

We wanted her to have time to prepare for a schedule like Prek & K would be as she had some sensory issues. She loved Sonshine, we loved the staff, & my daughter & us as parents made lifelong friends here. I always recommend this place to anyone looking for child care.

They communicate constantly, update frequently, and it's very clear the love they show my child and all she learns. I would not take my kids anywhere else. I trust them wholeheartedly and recommend them to anyone.

The love, care, and attention they give each child is unmatched. I never have to worry about whether my kids are being treated right because I know they are genuinely loved and cared for here. Shelly goes above and beyond for every single child and it shows in everything she does. All of the girls are absolutely amazing — patient, loving, and dedicated to teaching and helping the kids grow every day. My children are excited to go, and as a parent that means everything. Words honestly can’t describe how wonderful this center is. We are beyond grateful for everything they do for our family.
