📚 A beautifully designed library with excellent natural lighting—one of my favorites so far. The underground children’s section is especially well thought out, creating a warm and engaging reading environment that really encourages kids to stay and explore books 🌟📖 The overall atmosphere is calm and inspiring, perfect for spending a slow afternoon here. The only downside is that, on occasion, there are intoxicated or disruptive visitors entering the space, which can affect the otherwise peaceful environment.
GSTonyTsengJul 2, 2026Highly recommend stopping by The City Library! It is breathtakingly beautiful and was fun to explore. Shops (including the Library bookstore) and a coffee shop on the ground floor, spectacular views from the roof! The kids center was amazing! Stop into the Library to get your parking validated to get 2 free hours in the parking garage!
Tasha SpanielJun 13, 2026Ive been to some cool libraries. But this just took the 1rst Place ribbon. Besides being stunning from an architecture standpoint in which natural light is allowed to trickle through. Best way to read a book. They have stores inside. Fresh flowers, cafe, and more. Kids got to eat a free lunch while there. The staff was amazing. Friendly and engaging. Quick to point out more ways to have fun. The roof top bee hives and garden just put it over the top. Literally. What a place to see the Utah landscape and read a book! Jessica Smiths artwork was fun and engaging as well.
Randy V (p0g0 th3 fuN)Jun 12, 2026Beautiful building...lots to explore! I love that they have designated areas for kids and teens, as well as an amazing roof space! Don't miss the roof, and visit the active bee colonies there.
Michael OmoJun 6, 2026What a very cool library in the middle of downtown Salt Lake City! Inside the main area, you’ll find small shops where art and toys are sold as well as books and crafts. There is also a small café deli inside. Outside is a large beautiful walking/sitting area. If you’re looking for a free place to visit, this is pretty neat
CJay TurnMay 25, 2026Even if you are a tourist like myself and cannot use any of the services here, the SLC Public Library is worth a visit. The architecture is so unique and nice to look at, they have a row of shops on the ground floor, there are SLC 2002 Olympics displays everywhere, there is a fantastic art gallery, a copy of the enormous Audubon bird book, clean bathrooms and a very nice rooftop where you can enjoy uninterrupted mountain views.
