The Sammy Center

I can't imagine what our son's 3-5 years would have been like without the Sammy Center. They became a second family who loved him for who he is and supported his social and emotional development at his pace-- no judgment, no checklists of deficits. I especially appreciated how the Sammy Center worked to provide integrated speech therapy and occupational therapy for him right at the Center. Accessing those services in a space where he felt safe and loved made all the difference. We all cried on his last day! I recommend the Sammy Center to everyone I know in Salt Lake who has preschool-aged children, especially if those kids aren't being seen, known, and loved for who they are in other school settings. I can't say enough good things about them!

Sammy Center has been an incredible resource for my son, helping him navigate challenges with impulse control, attention, and listening skills. Through their dedicated support and tailored approach, Elliott gained foundational skills to manage his tendencies effectively. The compassionate and skilled team at Sammy Center provided him with the tools and confidence he needed to thrive. Since graduating from the program, Elliott has been excelling in his pre-K program and is well-prepared to start kindergarten in the fall of 2026. We are deeply grateful for the positive impact Sammy Center has had on his development and future.

The Sammy Center is amazing. The teachers are kind, caring, and clearly love what they do. You can tell they put a lot of heart into creating a happy and safe place for the kids. It's a place where you feel your child is truly seen and supported. A special thank you to Miss Maria. What she’s built here in memory of her son, Sammy, is something truly beautiful. The love and purpose behind this place can be felt in every corner. What she’s done will have an eternal impact on so many families. We’re really grateful.

I get emotional whenever I start to talk about the Sammy Center because I am SO grateful we found this gem. The Sammy Center is well structured, full of love, creativity and kindness. My son is full of life and excitement but was struggling in our previous daycare setting. We were connected with the Sammy Center and our son is thriving now! The emotional social skills that the Sammy Center focuses on has made such a difference in his interactions and learning. Having speech therapy available through the school has been wonderful. I love the creative projects and play available, the outdoor time and many other activities they facilitate. I believe their well trained staff and low student ratio is the key to so much of their success. The director Maria has brought together such a fabulous program incorporating so many different modalities and people. They do a wonderful job at focusing on each child’s strength and making accommodations where necessary. I’m so grateful for this program. Could not recommend it more.
