VASA Fitness - Sandy

I’ve been going to Vasa in West Jordan for over 5 years. In that time I’ve attended many different instructors classes for Studio red, as well as had a hand full of personal trainers. With out a doubt the best trainer and instructor is Adam. His high energy in the Studio classes keep me pushing harder. His expertise in LFT keeps me safe. His friendly outgoing attitude has helped me plan out my workout week to ensure I hit all my goals with Red, LFT, and flow. I had considered down grading my membership, but because of him I’ve opted to have the Studio membership and keep hitting those classes.

The gym and the staff are wonderful, with clean equipment and wipes available. Connor specifically was a great help after my friends and I mistakenly got two of our basketballs stuck in the ceiling. He was really willing to help and super friendly. The reason I have this place at 4 stars is because the basketball court never has proper functioning ac. The court is always insufferably hot to the point where nearly everyone on the court is dripping with sweat. I hope the gym manages to fix this issue.

WARNING FOR PEOPLE EFFECTED BY SEIZURES. If you have epilepsy DO NOT STAY UNTIL CLOSING. They strobe the lights every few minutes 20-30 minutes before close. It is what it is. Don't have unrealistic expectations. The showers smell of sewage. Many machines are decommissioned. If you buy a cheap membership, you get a cheap experience. Second warning: it is owned by a private equity firm (Silver Oak Services Partners out of Illinois). I hope anyone reading this understands why this is a detraction. Make sure to bring a good padlock with a medium sized hasp. Theives abound.

This VASA has slowly encouraged me to switch gyms. The employees were all so kind, but please use my cancellation fee for something useful like fixing ab machine #142 (I think that's the number lol), it squeaks so loud, and it's a machine that's highly used. And I don't know it's incompetent people jumping on machines and breaking them or what, but please fix the other 5-10 broken machines. Next, I think it's wildly inappropriate to have the hip thrusting machine in front of the benches (I know I'm not the only woman who felt uncomfortable with this), In addition, the bathrooms were always so nasty, the women's right-side hand dryer smells like it's going to start on FIRE, and why was the soap dispenser broken for like three weeks? It's a soap dispenser, bruh. Lastly, this has never happened anywhere but this sauna, like, don't get me wrong, I probably smelled anyway, but every time I left the sauna, I left smelling like fungal feta cheese. Donate all your broken stuff, and please upgrade your equipment. I understand it's a commercial gym, but I know there's enough money flowing in in SANDY UTAH to afford newer equipment. I love this gym! It has everything you could think of needing and the membership is actually very decently priced! This particular location has a pool, sauna, steam room, basketball court, all the cardio and weight equipment you could think of, massage chairs, red light bed, child care and the best fitness classes! Wes at the front desk is SO friendly and helpful, he makes coming in even on those early early morning workouts more pleasant. I will even go out of my way to wait in line for him to help me because he is so pleasant and helpful. The women in the kid care area are all so great as well! I never worry leaving my kiddos with them. My only complaint is the Paramount Acceptance customer service is pretty tough to get through to, long wait times and the phone system hangs up on you often. Outside of that 12/10 recommend this gym.
