  • Child abuse. UPDATE: the ownership is far more concerned with protecting their reputation than my children. They have repeatedly petitioned Google to take down or hide my review. They believe that the state’s failure to prosecute the teacher involved means nothing happened. They went so far as to send out an email claiming there was “no evidence” of abuse. Two children separately reported this abuse to their parents. A 4 and a 5 year old. As parents we have had to cope without childcare for months prior to moving. No one had anything to gain, especially not my 5 year old who was devastated to leave all her friends. The school and its ownership never reached out to me since I found the teacher back at the school without my knowledge. They should be ashamed of themselves for attempting to erase this incident without ever once checking in on the children they were responsible for. If they truly cared about our children’s well being they wouldn’t try to delete our reviews. They’d call to ask about our kids. Original post: My child and one of their friends disclosed that a teacher at the Crozet location punched them in the heads. Both the other parent and I filed a report with CPS and the police. My wife and I also sat down with the owner and told her exactly what the children told us. The one thing I asked of the owner was to inform me if she had any intention of bringing that teacher back to the school. She assured me she would and that she would tell me what her plan was pending the outcome of the investigation. Today, while the investigation is ongoing, I walked into the school to pick up my children and saw the teacher who punched my five year old in the head. I asked the owner, how would she feel if she was in my position--my child in the building with a person who punched them in the head during an active investigation? She told me, "if I believed my child, I would be furious." So, without concluding the law enforcement investigation, without even a courtesy phone call to me, the owner brought back to the school an alleged abuser. She then implied either that my child was lying or that she had no regard for whether I would be "furious" to walk in and find the teacher back in the building. There is no excuse for this reckless disregard for child safety or parent concern.

  • Ms. Beka does an excellent job at communicating upcoming events and important information! Appreciate the clear and helpful details that are shared often and she and others at the front desk are always ready to help with questions during drop off, pickup, or a phone call.

  • We are very happy with Miss Amber's work in the cheetah room with the three and four-year-olds. She has excellent curriculum ideas and is teaching the kids a greater range of things that I have seen in this room previously! Today they did a paint splatter activity and learned about Jackson Pollock! Amber also has worked with us specifically on nap time for our child. Thank you also to Maggie and Becca for all of the help and guidance you have provided for our family.

  • So, we've been in attendance here for almost a year so I feel I can leave an accurate review of our time here. First impression that drew us in was the environment. If you take a tour the facility is clean, rooms look fun and inviting and not overly stimulating. they don't have 'traditional' playground equipment but what they have is safe and fun for all ages in attendance. (the sandboxes are huge :) ) turn over has seen better in terms of keeping teachers but everyone's reason for if they choose to leave is their own. it's important to remember that. So, positions have been moved around and through and for a time there was a new teacher for my kids class it seemed every other month. (they weren't always leaving but finding their ideal space in staffing) but that has passed and I must say we are still happy with the staff we have. Ms. Becca is always a warm greeting when first in the door, and we are in Cheetahs and my little loves Ms. Amber. (it's always great when you vibe with the person that takes care of your child) and we have seen amazing growth in our munchkin. she's excited to go to school, to see her friends, learning letters, number, reading writing, and her social skills are blossoming. If there are incidents, (i.e., head bonks, anything involving the cranium) we get a call, If the staff or we have questions there's no beating about the bush, just straight up ask and you will know, or someone will find out. I do love the security of the building, and an all-female staff, also it being open door, if you ever are feeling nervous, anxious or just want to check in you can stop by, or lunch with your child, or call and request to talk with them for a minute! (really helped ease that starting new school nerves) the licensing investigations happen for every preschool/childcare, and you can find online any flags that were noted. in terms of price, of course I wish it wasn't as expensive as it is but given what I've seen and experienced i wouldn't put my littles care in anyone else's hands. overall come check them out! 5 Stars!

  • We were blessed to find a home for our three children at Bright Beginnings upon relocating to Crozet in October 2023. When they enrolled our daughter was 4 years old and our twin boys were 15 months old. Since then, we’ve witnessed their development across several dimensions. Our daughter thrived in Ms. Margaret’s Zebra class where she was welcomed warmly from the start. We are confident Ms. Margaret’s decades of experience paired with challenging curriculum delivered in a nurturing manner ensured our daughter had a growth mindset and was more than prepared for kindergarten. Our boys, now 3 years old, have experienced a classroom transition and several different teachers but have adjusted well to both in each instance. They currently love their time with Ms. Joslyn in the Monkey class where we’ve seen growth across their social-emotional, motor, literacy, math, language, and cognitive skills. Our boys enjoy it so much they say, “hi, bye, and see you soon school” any time we drive past and always are on the lookout for a train passing by. Recent investments to add turf to the outdoor area has been well-received by our washing machine and boys’ knees. We appreciate the Parents / Kids Night Out program which allows us to enjoy an occasional evening to ourselves or with friends while knowing our children are well cared for at Bright Beginnings a few extra hours on a Friday night. Thank you to the teachers and assistants who have helped shape our little ones over the past two years.

  • We’ve been fortunate to go to Bright Beginnings since we relocated to Virginia last summer. We’re grateful for the administrators and teachers who’ve helped developed both girls during this time of significant change for our family. Ms. Stacie started as our younger daughter’s teacher and moved into the preschool director role. Ms. Stacie has a special energy and radiance to her. She brings her full heart to work and that’s evident in the way that she shows up and is so present with the parents and children in every interaction. Our younger daughter has continued to thrive under Ms. Joslyn who is kind, patient, present, engaged and supportive. She’s always sharing or celebrating something the kids did during the day and I never feel rushed with her, no matter how busy she is. Our older daughter has transitioned to a new school but we’re so grateful to have had Ms. Margaret to help our older daughter perfect spelling and numbers, and to bring out more of her artistic skills, curiosity and creativity. Ms. Margaret’s career educator shines through which puts parents at ease. You can tell how committed Ms. Margaret is to the curriculum and child development. Ms. Alexis, who supported our older daughter in Ms. Margaret’s class has been kind and patient and so supportive of our family. I know they’ve both contributed to our older daughter’s ability to be more ready for kindergarten. We’re appreciative for all the teachers and teaching assistants and know that under Ms. Stacie’s leadership, the preschool will continue to thrive.
