Our family has had such a wonderful experience at Children’s House Montessori School. The environment provides the perfect balance of structure, learning, creativity, fun, and outdoor play, which has been exactly what our son needed to thrive. The guides are truly exceptional. They are compassionate, thoughtful, and take the time to understand each child’s individual needs. It’s clear they genuinely care about every student. They have been incredibly supportive in helping our son navigate periods of change with patience and encouragement, and we’ve seen so much growth in his confidence and independence because of their guidance. One of the things we appreciate most is the strong sense of community the school creates. There are so many opportunities for families to be involved, from classroom events to community gatherings, allowing parents to connect with their children and with other families. It feels like so much more than a school—it feels like a community. We are incredibly grateful for the positive impact Children’s House Montessori School has had on our son and would recommend it to any family looking for a nurturing, engaging, and supportive Montessori education.
Megan McGourtyAug 1, 2026Our family has been apart of the Children’s House Montessori Alexandria Campus for a year. Our child has just completed their time with the toddler program at CHMS, and they have recently moved to the preschool program. We have been in awe of the progress they has shown in their independence, confidence, and communication. Thanks to the thoughtfully curated Montessori environment at school, we find our child taking pride in their ability to do things on their own, such as putting on shoes, cleaning up a mess, and using the potty. They are also able to more clearly articulate their needs, wants, and questions with more patience and manners. All of these are taught and reinforced daily at CHMS. We have also genuinely appreciated the care and attention that all staff members have shown our family. Staff is quick to communicate with us via the Brightwheel app, a phone call, or at pick up or drop off. From the monthly playdates hosted at the school in the warmer months, the schoolwide picnics and pizza parties, and the multiple opportunities to visit the classrooms, we have felt like true members of the CHMS community. We have been so grateful for our experience, and we are excited to see how our child continues to grow.
Katie GutowskiJul 14, 2026We couldn’t be happier with our daughter’s time at CHMS. She started the year shy at drop-off, and by spring she was practically running through the door to greet her teachers and friends. The growth we saw in her over the year was remarkable — her vocabulary exploded, she learned to read and write, and she came home excited to share new songs and facts she’d learned! What impressed us most was how the teachers nurtured her independence and confidence. Additionally, the communication from staff was consistent and thoughtful all year. CHMS gave our daughter such a strong foundation socially, emotionally, and academically. We’re so grateful and highly recommend it to any family considering school here! We know she will be very prepared as she takes on her new chapter!
Christina HochulJul 13, 2026Our daughter has been at CHMS for 1.5yrs. We’ve watched her become more confident and enjoy learning. What we appreciate most is how the school nurtures her independence, she takes real pride in doing things for herself. Watching her walk in each morning with such assurance tells us everything we need to know. We’re grateful for the teachers for giving her such a solid foundation.
Deb PMay 1, 2026We feel so fortunate to have been part of the inaugural year at CHMS Alexandria and couldn't be happier with our experience. Being among the first families at this new campus has been truly special, and we've watched with admiration as CHMS has seamlessly integrated into the Alexandria community. The campus itself is stunning - every classroom and space has been thoughtfully designed with children in mind, creating an environment that is both beautiful and functional. The attention to detail throughout the facility reflects the school's commitment to excellence and creating an ideal learning environment for the children. Mr. Jad's leadership as head of school has been exceptional. His compassionate, empathetic, and professional approach, combined with his openness to feedback, has fostered a wonderful community atmosphere. He has created something truly special at the Alexandria campus. The teachers are remarkable in their dedication and attentiveness to each child's individual needs. They are also wonderfully open to feedback and excel as responsive communicators, making collaboration between home and school seamless. We've witnessed tremendous growth in our daughter during her time at CHMS. She began in the toddler classroom, and when the teachers thoughtfully observed she was ready for new challenges, they recommended her transition to preschool, where she has continued to thrive. Their keen observation skills and genuine care for what's best for each child consistently impresses us. The warmth, patience, and kindness they show every day is evident—our daughter comes home each day sharing how wonderful her teachers are. The school community CHMS has built is equally impressive. Through thoughtful events like playdates, picnics, and school gatherings, we've formed meaningful connections with other families and truly feel part of a close-knit community. Perhaps the greatest testament to CHMS is that our daughter is genuinely excited to go to school every day. We had worried about her first day, but thanks to the pre-opening playdates and opportunities to visit the school and meet her teachers, she walked in confidently without a single tear. Knowing she is happy, loved, and thriving is what matters most to us, and CHMS delivers on all fronts. CHMS Alexandria is a truly wonderful place, and we feel incredibly fortunate to have our daughter there and to be part of this amazing community.
Nithya ManiJul 28, 2025Children’s House Montessori School is a truly exceptional environment for young learners. The school’s empathetic and caring approach fosters independence and confidence, allowing children to thrive at their own pace. The classrooms are thoughtfully designed with engaging materials that encourage exploration and discovery. The abundance of natural light in the classrooms creates a warm, inviting atmosphere that enhances the sense of calm and focus. For children who may be shy or easily overwhelmed in traditional daycare settings, Children’s House Montessori offers a perfect solution. The mindful approach to learning, coupled with a gentle and patient teaching style, helps children feel safe and supported as they develop their social and academic skills. My daughter struggled with overstimulation at a previous daycare. She found a peaceful and inspiring home here—one where she could grow without pressure and truly come into her own. Children’s House Montessori is more than just a school; it’s a nurturing space where children blossom, self-confidence flourishes, and a lifelong love of learning begins. Highly recommended for any parent seeking a thoughtful, compassionate educational experience.
