  Elena is truly an amazing child care provider! From infants to school age kids, she provides age appropriate activities that promote social/emotional learning, gross motor skills, and language skills. She allows time to learn colors, letters, numbers, read and sing songs, and plenty of outdoor activities. All of which are centered on play-based learning. The daycare is also a Spanish immersive program since most of the day is conducted in Spanish. This was a huge bonus because our oldest now understands Spanish and integrates Spanish into his daily vocabulary! Elena promotes such a loving and safe environment where each child is able to grow and learn. She provided our kids with a strong educational foundation while also ensuring they ate healthy meals, maintained nap schedules, and enjoyed each day they spent with her. She has many years of experience and an abundance of knowledge regarding child-rearing and is always so willing to provide insight when asked. She is simply amazing and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience!

  I can not say enough about how amazing Elena and Jenny are. Elena is a third grandmother to both our kids and like family to my whole family. Both of my kids were with her from when they were infants until preschool. She raised them and raised my husband and me as parents. She was very communicative and would text with us just to even check how we were doing. My kids learned so much in her daycare. They are doing pre-school assignments when they are 2 years old. Some of the kids are even reading before they leave her daycare. A few more things that are worth mentioning: - her yard is customized for their paly - each kid gets their own, age appropriate, sleeping area or bed - they throw huge celebrations for each of the kids' birthday - the best hand and foot print art! - they learn how to love nature and garden - they learn how to cook and bake This review wouldn't be complete without mentioning: THE FOOD!!! Elena serves homemade breakfast, snacks and lunch everyday. The food is not your typical kids food, but delicious and diverse food. Elena is a life long friend and mentor!

  Elena is a baby whisperer who teaches, nurtures, loves, and encourages her daycare explorers on a daily basis! I can go on and on about her and her assistants with all of their compassion, energy, and patience. They prepare and cook homemade food for toddlers and infants with real organic natural food and teach the children to eat with proper manners. She even grinds her own oatmeal to make cereal for the babies. She will work with parents on their personal preferences: breastmilk, cloth diapers, and even cooks gluten-free to accommodate a family’s dietary needs. She teaches the kids arts and crafts, reading, writing, dancing, singing, and even some acting. She has a huge backyard for outdoor play, tons of educational toys in every room, and will even take kids on walks to the park and playgrounds next door to her house. She teaches them about nature, culture, the ecosystem, and more. She adores them, and they adore her in return! All the children have impeccable manners, are fanatical about cleanliness and organization, and respect one another and share. There are different rooms for the kids to sleep in (separated by age group), not just one room like some daycares I visited. There is a big playroom for the kids and she uses her kitchen to feed and teach the kids to cook and cleanup. My kids love the mixed age group at this daycare – they learn from the older kids and help out with the little kids (Elena accepts kids aged 6 weeks through 4 years). The kids reach all their milestones well before expected. Elena truly believes in working with the parents on the child’s development. She invests in her space constantly - updating the playroom with games and educational toys while also re-decorating to change with the seasons (just like schools do!). The kid to adult ratio is far better than the county permits (6:1) for this age group. She also only takes 2 infants at a time, to ensure both infants can be held and cuddled by her and her assistants whenever they need it. She opens at 7 am and closes at 5:30pm. Elena is even open on Fairfax County snow days! She always serves hot fresh breakfast, 2-3 snacks, and a very large homemade lunch every day. My kids bring home activities and crafts for us often, which is themed to the next holiday or a craft to fit the season. She gives such special attention to the children and will inspire you to be a better, more patient, engaged parent! There are so many more immeasurable qualities that make Elena’s daycare amazing, but I cannot fail to mention her flexibility - you can drop off or pick up whenever you want - which was hard to find in daycares. She will also change your child so they are ready for their evening activities (gymnastics, swim suits, etc) and keep them up if you are going on a road trip and need them to fall asleep in the car! She really tries to make your life easier, which I love as my husband and I are both working parents. Elena and her assistants are amazing in so many ways!

  Our 2 year old grandson has been with Elena since he was an infant. On occasion I pick him up early. The playroom is always clean, the kids are clean and happy. I have seen many great art projects and learning activities he has done at daycare. I love that Elena shares videos of special events like birthdays! I know Elena loves our grandson and takes very good care off him.

  Elena’s daycare is a warm, nurturing environment for babies and toddlers! My daughters have attended since they were 3 months old, and I have always been at peace knowing how cared for they are. Elena teaches them manners, numbers, letters, social skills, and gently puts them on a schedule for meals and naps. The kids are treated with patience and respect. Parent preferences are honored and there is great open communication. It’s a wonderful place for little ones!

  We started our daughter at a daycare center at 4 months old and struggled with how impersonal it was. We found out about Elena’s home daycare through a neighbor and moved her out as fast as we could after meeting Elena in person. She was warm and loving—exactly what we were looking for at the time. It’s been over a year and we could not be happier. Our daughter is excited every day when we drop her off and it’s hard to get her to leave when we pick her up! Meals are provided (Elena cooks them homemade food every day), they spend a good amount of time outside playing and she frequently comes home with adorable art projects. The daycare is always immaculate and new toys are often rotated into the play area. Elena and Jenny genuinely love the kids like their own—often checking up on them over the weekend if they were sick, throwing each child a birthday party and celebrating milestones. Communication is never an issue and parents frequently get pictures texted throughout the week. Elena has made being a working parent so much easier!
