  Jovie of Arlington is the main provider contracted by Bright Horizon Backup Care which my husband gets as a part of his employee benefits at his job. Initially, we were impressed by all the caregivers that were assigned to us. Unfortunately,lately, we’ve been experiencing issues with Jovie and the caregivers. First, the information and bio we received about a caregiver who was assigned to us were incorrect. Second, we had a caregiver who was a no-show. When we finally tracked her down, it turned out she had canceled the job with Jovie but Jovie never communicated this to us or assigned a new caregiver. The last-minute snafu nearly ruined our evening but we were able to find last-minute care with our children’s daycare teacher. Third, we were recently assigned a caregiver who seemed a little confused with basic instructions we were giving her about our kids’ mealtimes and bedtimes. We didn’t have a good feeling about her, so my husband went home early. When he got home, he found our toddler locked in her room with tears in her eyes while the caregiver was downstairs holding our crying infant. I got the sense that she got overwhelmed in those 3-4 hours she was in our home with our children. This particular caregiver did an acceptable job with the kids but it was small things like what I described above that made me concern. She did not share with us certain things such as the diaper pail needing to be emptied. When we had the same caregiver assigned to us again, I immediately called BH Backup Care to request another caregiver. The rep I spoke to at BH called Jovie, no one responded, she left at a voicemail, but I’m assuming she didn’t get a response. I also called Jovie, left a voicemail, and never got a call back.

  Love my experience since I started with jovie. Really appreciate staffing as well, also am so thankful to have Nicole who gave me a chance. And Alexis is really great with answering questions and is very helpful. They both have been a great help and I enjoy being a sitter for jovie.
