Little Lights North has been such a blessing for us and our child. The teachers are excellent with her. We are greeted by name everytime we come in. They do fun activities everyday with the children. If she is absent, they check on her. She is safe and well cared for all through out the day and that gives me such a peace of mind. I highly recommend Little Lights North.
Jennifer MooreMar 12, 2025Little Lights North is a great choice to care for your children. The staff and administration are kind and genuinely care about the children. Each child is greeted by name every day no matter how young they are and when the kids are sick or absent they are missed and inquired after. The administration invests a great deal of time in training the staff and it shows in the happy culture that exists within the daycare. Staff retention is very good and many of the people who have cared for my toddler are now set to care for the baby as he grows up. I have always felt that my concerns were carefully listened to and considered from the daily caregivers to the administration to the head of the church that runs the daycare. I feel like I can easily speak with anyone at any time with cordial questions or concerns and have never felt anything but highly valued as a member of the community.
Forrest HalleyMar 5, 2025I love Little Lights North! My 4 year old son started going here when they first opened (3 yo at the time) and he has loved it ever since. There's times when I have to bribe him just to get him to go home. My youngest (5 mo) started when he was 7 weeks old and is thriving in his development. I feel I can talk to any of the teachers or administrators and my concerns will be heard. Dawn's office is always open for any of the kids, parents, or teachers to talk to her. Any concerns about the health of my boys or their behavior is brought to our attention so I always feel like they are being cared for as if they were family. It's also really nice to have a daycare/ preschool that's open from 6 am to 6:30 pm, it allows me to have the flexibility to have a longer commute to work the job I want and still be able to make it there on time and not rush to get back in the evening. The only issue we have ever had wasn't even with Little Lights itself but with CIT across the parking lot trying to prevent parents from using shared parking spots (parking easement) with non-enforceable signs.
Kelsey HalleyMar 5, 2025My Grand daughtet comes here after school and on school off days that we work. What a blessing this place is. She Loves this place, sees her friends after school and always comes home happy! Ms Dawn has been with Lyric since she was at Starting Point and were so happy she is. A Christain based childcare center, they are always playing or doing arts & crafts. Field trips to movies on school closed days, just a wonderful place for her to go. Thank you Lighthouse Church and thank you Ms Dawn!
Michael WargoMar 5, 2025We love sending our granddaughter to Little Lights North. Both the Program Manager and the staff are wonderful. We will continue to send her there until she ages out. Thank you for the safe nurturing environment, Little Lights North!
HeatherMar 5, 2025My child attended Little Lights North for a short time (two or so weeks). Several weeks back, Little Lights North staff placed her on the wrong bus, which took her to the wrong school. I completely understand that things like this can happen. However, Little Lights North did not contact me to let me know this had occurred (I was contacted by GCPS transportation, although it was the Little Lights staff that put my daughter on the wrong bus/made this mistake, not GCPS). I e-mailed Dawn Norville at Little Lights North that evening to get clarification on what had happened. I received a defensive e-mail in response with no apology to me or my child for this incident having occurred. I let two GCPS school administrators read the response and they both agreed it was defensive and not an appropriate response to a concerned parent given the circumstances and the events necessitating my inquiry. This is not how you build trust within the community and with parents, and was certainly not how to rectify this situation in a professional manner. This makes me question Little Light North’s transparency, as had GCPS not contacted me, I don’t know that I would have even known that this occurred beyond my child telling me. This further brings into question what else may occur involving my child at Little Lights North that I am not informed about. Immediate loss of trust and my child has not and will not return.
