  Metta is a gem of a school that we feel so grateful to have had our children in for their crucial early years. The teachers are truly committed and we have seen both our kids thrive, gaining astonishing independence, curiosity, confidence, love of learning and sense of self. We had two other schools for our older one before finding Metta and the education and care at Metta is just head and shoulders above anything else we experienced - highly, highly recommend.

  As a mom, I truly can’t recommend Metta Montessori enough. My son attended the school, and not only was he incredibly happy there, but in such a short time I saw real growth in him. He became so much more independent, confident in his daily routines, and something that really touched me was how kind and loving he became with his classmates. That doesn’t just happen, it’s a reflection of the environment they create. All of the teachers are absolutely wonderful. They are Montessori-certified, but beyond that, you can feel that they truly live and embody the philosophy every single day. And the directors… just exceptional. They are present in every part of the process, from admissions to the personalized progress of each child. Always kind, organized, professional, and genuinely caring. If you live in Arlington and are looking for a place where your children won’t just learn, but truly grow as human beings, don’t think twice. This is the place.

  Both of our children attended Metta Montessori, and together we had a seven-year relationship with the school. Our kids are quite different in personality, strengths, and areas where they needed a bit of extra support, yet both thrived here—academically and socially. We were fortunate to have truly exceptional teachers: professional educators who went far beyond simply watching children. They provided excellent care, created a warm environment, and were very attentive to each child’s development. One of the things we appreciated most was how quickly teachers noticed any potential developmental issues, so they could be addressed early and constructively. Looking back, we feel extremely positive about our experience and will always be grateful for the foundation this school gave our children. It is a place where kids are genuinely nurtured and prepared for the next stage of learning.

  We've had a wonderful experience at Metta! We chose to send our son here for two reasons: their outdoor play area is so large and the kids spend hours each day outside. Second, they are experienced Montessori educators and the classrooms are orderly and kids are able to enter into focused work. Highly recommend.

  I have never felt so at ease and comforted knowing my child is at Metta Montessori. The life skills they instill daily, will stick with us our whole lives. Not only for our child, but for us as parents. The kindness, patience, language, problem solving skills, and most importantly, the confidence Metta teachers nuture into their students is such a foundation of success. It has never felt like a daycare or passive place to play. The first 5 years of a child’s life really sets the fundamentals of their moral compass, and Metta compliments this outstandingly. They treat children like tiny adults, in that they believe they are capable and able. They give them the opportunity to foster their own wants/needs and interests. My child was toilet trained before the age of 2, with the help of Metta encouraging an exposure to “toilet learning”. There is never pressure, but more exposure and great examples of what you would want your child to learn. Montessori fosters a “child led” approach but Metta truly takes it one step further and engages/intuitively captures making difficult/uninteresting subjects for your child fun and engaging. They give your child purpose and “jobs” to do that in turn gives them confidence and motivation to try and do hard things. I feel so lucky to be a part of such a great community of parents and teachers that all are so engaged.
