Our daughter has been with Monarch Montessori School nearly a year, and we have absolutely loved this space for her. The classrooms are intimate, quiet, and clean - truly focusing on the Montessori methodology. We couldn’t be more grateful for the love and kindness the staff have given to our daughter.
Jessica HeckendornApr 28, 2026We greatly enjoyed our experience with Monarch Montessori School. From the first day we met with the staff when evaluating schools, we knew it would be a great option for us. The staff - both managers and teachers - were always so kind to us and provided so many great lessons that we were able to take home. Our child entered in the infant room and graduated up to the toddler room. Their program was so supportive of her, and we could see her growing in confidence and communication every day. I would recommend Monarch to anyone who is seeking a reliable and safe day care to send their little ones, and it is a place where they can grow and prosper.
Jennifer EdwardsDec 17, 2025This school did an excellent job of teaching and preparing our daughter, from early childhood skills and socialization to basic academic knowledge. At our new school, the teacher has remarked on how well-prepared and advanced she is, which we attribute to Monarch's efforts, including Dr. Haynes who does a fantastic job with the kids. While Monarch is still fairly new, it has found its footing and works diligently to foster an environment of development and learning at the toddler/preschool age.
Alex GAug 27, 2025My daughter started in Monarch’s infant program right after our parental leave ended, and the Monarch team made a big transition as easy as possible for us. The administration is communicative and actively engaged with the kids and parents, and the teachers are incredibly caring. Our daughter breaks into a big smile every morning as soon as we walk in the doors! We feel extremely confident leaving our daughter in the Monarch team’s care.
Caitlin Ballotta RajagopalanDec 17, 2024I would not recommend this daycare due to several serious concerns. Firstly, the environment lacks structure and appropriate procedures. I’ve witnessed children and babies engaging in unsafe behavior, such as licking the floor and chewing on furniture legs, which goes unaddressed by the staff. This lack of hygiene and safety standards is alarming. Secondly, the daycare’s communication and customer service are poor. When parents ask questions, the responses are often condescending, as if we are expected to know their internal processes, which, by the way, don’t seem to exist. They handle concerns in an accusatory and unprofessional manner. I spoke to a few parents about this before leaving and several of them were either planning to pull their kids out or already have. A significant issue is that the staff yells at children, which is unacceptable in any educational setting, especially Montessori. My children regularly came home saying their teachers had yelled at them. Despite multiple complaints, the daycare did nothing to address this issue. There were also incidents of other children hitting mine, and the staff failed to intervene effectively. The classroom structure is problematic as well. Older children are often grouped with younger kids, including babies, due to a lack of students in the older classes. This limits the learning opportunities for older children, and by the end of our time there, my child was essentially the only older child in a class, merged with much younger children. High staff turnover is another red flag. During the six months my child attended, the daycare lost at least five teachers, including some of the best. This points to a deeper issue with management, which seems to be poorly run. Additionally, they don’t respect parents’ choices regarding privacy. Despite opting out of having my child’s pictures shared online, they continued to post them publicly. When I asked them to stop, they punished me by withholding updates on my child in the Brightwheel app, which is supposed to be used for internal communication and updates. This is both unprofessional and unethical. Lastly, there is no clear curriculum, and communication about what the children are learning is virtually non-existent. As a parent, I was left trying to guess what my child was doing each day based on the few pictures I received. The management is particularly concerning, as it seems to be run by two women, one of whom is extremely disrespectful to parents and poor at managing both the staff and the overall daycare environment. Also, when they are short staffed (which is almost every day) they play videos on the tablet or phones for kids to watch. If you do no screen for your kids, I recommend against taking your kids there. In conclusion, this daycare is poorly managed, lacks structure, and provides a negative environment for both children and parents. I do not recommend sending your child here.
HKDOct 25, 2024After trying a few places, we enrolled our “intense and persistent” (the pediatrician’s words, not ours!) 15-month-old at Monarch and were thrilled to watch him thrive. The group of loving caregivers there were extremely patient with difficult transitions and really encouraged his independence and his interest in music and reading - he is such a happy, determined 2.5 year old now and we credit Monarch with much of that!! We would highly recommend to anyone looking for a loving environment that builds independence!
