Washington Street Preschool is a wonderful, magical school where my two children thrived! Both of my kids spent their entire preschool years at Washington Street and were cared for by the most amazing teachers and staff. WSUMCP prepared my kids for elementary school by strengthening their social, learning, and emotional development. I couldn't recommend this school enough!
Jennifer BarksdaleDec 2, 2025WSUMC is a lovely and caring little preschool. Their half day program was the first classroom experience for both of my girls. Their teachers and staff helped my kids acclimate, feel comfortable and, ultimately, thrive as young little students. Many of the staff have been with the school for years which is a testament to the kind of community they foster. And our family came away with lasting friendships, both parent and kid! We are grateful for WSUMC preschool and proud to recommend it to others.
Molly Gannon ConwayNov 8, 2025It's a really nice school and the staff is very kind, but, we brought our 2 year old for his first school experience and they told us after 3 classes (about 5 hours total), that he wasn't adjusting and cut him from the class. I feel like a school that advertises that it's for 2 year olds should be more patient. Overall, I'd recommend the school, but maybe not if it's your child's first experience. Their methods of drop off and pick up are relatively severe (Montessori style), and they make it clear that they are not interested in feedback from the parents on how to help their kids adjust. Again, I don't think it's a bad school, but I wouldn't recommend it as your child's first experience, it's kind of sink or swim, and they're not afraid to cut you 3 weeks into the school year once all the other schools are already full. (For transparency, they did give us a full refund, but that doesn't help much since most of the other schools are already full and it's too late to apply. I was very put off by the fact that we kept making suggestions and were told repeatedly, "we know what's best" before they told us halfway through his 3rd day not to come back)
Michael GeogheganSep 27, 2025My two daughters had such a wonderful time at Washington Street UMC Preschool. The teachers, especially Ms. Courtney and Ms. Caroline, were incredibly caring and loving towards them. Their patience and kindness made a real difference in our girls' development. We're so grateful for all they do! The fun activities and the regular updates from the school helped us stay connected and feel like part of the community. Washington Street UMC Preschool has had such a positive impact on our family, and we truly appreciate the sense of belonging we experienced there.
Jasmine IrigoyenOct 3, 2024Our 3 children spent a total of 7 years at WSUMC preschool over the course of 10 years. It was an unfailingly nurturing, creative and fun-filled environment. The daily routine combined with special events such as chick-hatching, local field trips and caterpillar/butterfly observation were great learning experiences and memory makers! We made lasting friendships from our preschool days and are forever grateful for the wonderful early educational experience we had at WSUMC preschool!
Eva DomotorffySep 30, 2024Our experience at WSUMCP was full of warmth, support, hands-on learning, community, friendships, and happiness. Our children learned in ways they didn’t even know they were learning — through fun and joyful experiences — and matured and developed friendships based in “learning to live lovingly”. We are incredibly grateful for the supportive teacher and parent community to get through challenges in the younger years, especially through the pandemic. WSUMCP provided the ideal foundation for our children to be life long learners. Could not imagine a better preschool experience!
