This school is fantastic. They have been doing this since 1981! They have seen everything and understand the history and traditions. My daughter has been going for 2years and she is so happy. Most of her teachers have AT LEAST 20y AT FCC! Teacher turnover? Haha not here. I'm not saying they are perfect, but there are none of the shenanigans I hear at other schools. The teachers love the children. They also have that "nothing phases me bc I have seen it before" attitude. Oh and no screens. The kids also raise and release salmon every spring. There is a huge play area with multiple play structures, grass, and forest. Yes the waiting list takes forever, but that's true everywhere. And it's worth it. This is just preschool done the old school right way.
Nolan ReisJun 4, 2025FCC is a great daycare, preschool and after school care facility, the teachers and staff are extremely caring and professional. Really love the community aspects of the centers family involvement. I have 2 kids that have attended from 3months of age through 7years.
Zach WMay 3, 2025Best daycare / afterschool we have found. Kids love it. We've had both in there now for 18 months. My son is grade 1 at Arbor Heights and does the Comets afterschool and holiday program my daughter is Satellite. They both LOVE it. It's also great for afterschool as they run a bus from the school, as well as holiday coverage. Teachers are awesome as are the staff, and there is a real community feel to it!
Jon WhiteFeb 25, 2025Our youngest son started at FCC in the Fall of 2022. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for quality childcare. We spent probably one or two months on the waitlist and were able to get him started in the 2's room. He's been through four of the classrooms since then and developed so many great friendships along the way. In fact, we just had his entire class over for his 5th birthday party. FCC expects parents to be involved in the success of their children and the success of the daycare, which I think is part of what makes this place work. You get to know the teachers and other parents really well. As with any educational institution, there are things that can and will be improved. The board and the director are strong and working hard to make FCC even better for the kids and families they serve. We will miss this place when our son moves to Kindergarten, but we are glad that another family will have the chance to experience FCC as a result.
Chris ShermanFeb 25, 2025DO NOT sign up for their waitlist. I signed up as soon as I found out I was pregnant in 2022. I spoke to someone in the admin office and said I didn't want to pay $70 if it seemed like it would be over a year wait. She assured me the waitlist wouldn't be that long. ...It is February 2025. He is STILL on the waitlist. We signed him up with Diana Llanes at Once Upon A Time Daycare (now Renacer Juntos) in White Center and drop him off, hop right onto 509 and go to work. They're open 7am-6pm and he knows as much Spanish as English now. And colors! At less than two years old! There hasn't been turnover either. Just love them. Fauntleroy Children's Center should be more transparent about their waitlist.
Dr. Kelly PeronaFeb 15, 2025Our son has been attending FCC for the past 4 years and we love it. He started in the baby room at 6 months old and through each classroom stage (waddlers, toddlers, pre-k) we have felt the teachers have done an excellent job of caring for our child as well as guiding us as first-time parents. Our son has loved it all and we feel like he's truly prepared for entering kindergarten as a result of his time at FCC.
