  • We have been part of the Little Doves family for seven months and it has been such a great experience for our daughter. They maintain low ratios in a small, home-like atmosphere. Our daughter learns new words, social skills, motor skills, etc every day and is so excited to show us what she knows when she comes home! Every member of the staff cares deeply for the children and they design engaging activities and learning opportunities mixed with ample free play. They are responsive to children's needs and maintain consistent, professional communication via the BrightWheel app. If there is ever a closure, illness, or any other issue, we are notified right away. The center provides all meals and snacks other than lunch which is a huge help, and the cook provides the menu weekly for parents to view. They also maintain high standards for cleanliness and sanitation as I see them cleaning every time I am there for pick up! Special shout out to Ms. Emily, Ms. Jaz, Ms. Anastasia, and Ms. Val for taking such good care of our girl!

  • We’ve had such a great time at Little Doves! Both my kids have learned so much and come home with art projects regularly! Every teacher and staff member is so welcoming and engaged with the kids! I could go on and on- the art, the learning, the communication, the parties, the amazing teachers, the cleanliness of the center, and so many more positives! Both my kids have learned so many new prayers as well! I truly am so impressed with this daycare. Highly recommend Little Doves!

  • Lots to say! First of all.. the staff is very caring and sweet and informative and attentive.. brightwheel is great, though starting a new daycare they dont use it because they dont want the teachers distracted… which may be very important difference, so my experience: My 2 year old was here around 6 months, he never bit before and got bit a few times, badly here.. the other kid was allowed to stay, and then my som became the biter, he bit everyone and everywhere he went, at the ymca at church at daycare.. he learned to bite there and would never stop. It may have been the attention he receieved when he bit, if they used a higher more stern voice and grabbed him, or if there was the brightwheel distraction stopping prevention..or just unable to always remove from group when it happens.. im not sure, i know they tried, but something wasnt working.. so i pulled him because it was sort of ruining our life.. now at new daycare he rarely bites, so theres something different and more helpful they are doing there.. My son gets overstimulated easily and takes everything he sees to the next level/extreme. So the loud noise of the other kids screaming/running around and the music being played (not a good idea for music in an already overstimulating environment) made him really unhappy sometimes. Some weeks he would do great but always resorted back to extreme frustration and violence. It was a yoyo where he would do good for weeks and then go back to violence.. so its hard to know exactly what the problem was/is I do know the staff cares a lot and is very helpful and informative and wanting to work with the child and parent but when it comes to biting or violence there is just something they are lacking? Idk i know the age group kids do bite but maybe should have kicked out the excessive biter before it spread? I will say, its a church so they try to keep the cost low, but you cant sacrifice quality for quantity . They do tons of great activites and crafts and it made me happy seeing all the updates and crafts my son made. He did also have a lot of fun. My son did great outside, the outside section is huge and all the kids love it and get sunlight and fresh air and thats a HUGE plus , we’ve not gone to another daycare sooner because the other outdoor looked like a prison for only 20 minutes a day. But at little doves they go outside as much as possible and thats so so important for kids. Being indoors all day will destroy a child, its SOOO important. New daycare has nice outdoor as well.. Its hard to pinpoint exact fault but it is telling that he stopped at new daycare! ***(..Another thing is, at the time i didnt know lutheran churches were very liberal, dont share same interpretation **

  • The teachers and staff at Little Doves are wonderful, caring, and patient. I feel good about bringing my son here because every person working at Little Doves has a big heart and makes that evident in how they care for each and every child, regardless of which teacher is assigned to the child's classroom. My son has learned so much from the program and always looks forward to his time playing with the friends he's made here. Little Doves also makes it easy to keep up with everything that happens throughout the day by sharing updates in the app (Brightwheel). The staff are always eager to respond to any question, request, or concern. The Program Director, Abby, is also so very supportive and patient. Every request we made with her for our son was treated with respect and true compassion for our son or the situation.

  • My 15m old just started here and I already am so happy with everything! Teacher Maggie in the Toddler Room is amazing- my daughter was attached to her from day one and always looks forward to seeing her. Maggie is also awesome at sending updates, letting me know how things are going, how naps went, ect. The director, Abbigail, is also extremely nice, responsive, and you can tell she really loves all the kiddos there. Highly recommend getting on their waitlist if you are looking for child care in Port Orchard!
