I'm just going to put this out there for anyone that might consider taking their child to mckenna child care and early learning center. Only do it if your okay with your child being restrained with a blanket burrito style and then held down by a teachers legs at nap time. This happened to my son yesterday. I had no idea he was even having a rough day until I picked him up. I didn't get any calls or anything during the day. I talked to the director and she talked to the teacher who did it and the teacher admitted to doing it and they seemed like they thought It was justified. My son told me he was not hitting or kicking he was just being bad and not listening. And when I picked him up they did not mention anything about him being violent just that he wasn't listening. He told me that while the teacher was pinning him down he told her he couldn't breath and she continued to pin him down. He said he couldn't even get his arms out of the blanket to scratch his nose. Needless to say I pulled him out of this daycare. And just for a little context my son is a normal tempered five year old boy, who was having a rough day yesterday. He has no behavioral issues.
AlexApr 8, 2021Friendly, caring and positively nurturing teachers. My daughter has many friends in her toddler classroom and frequently smiles at staff and other kids. She has multiple opportunities to engage in educational tasks and loves indoor/outdoor playtime. Staff are quick to resolve any issues and address concerns right away. It is a blessing to know she is happy and well taken care of at this center. The environment is well kept, organized and children artwork is displayed. The center also supports local vendors for educational/community engagement as we loved her school pictures, her getting to see a firetruck to learn about safety and purchasing books to donate to the center.
