My husband and I toured this daycare in May and got promised great communication between the teachers and us either via their app or in person or both if necessary, nutritious meals, age appropriate curriculum that did not include teaching Spanish (While touring we noticed that some teachers there spoke Spanish with some kids) as well as a safe and happy environment. I am a daycare teacher myself and up until now, my children always went to the same daycare I worked at, so I perfectly know what I can expect from a daycare as a parent, what parents should expect from me and the same counts for the children as well. I made this fact very clear and therefore expected updates regarding my children regularly just like I was used to in the past. Now about our experience: Our children started in June, roughly 3 weeks after we toured the place, when we dropped them off for the first time, no one seemed to expect them to be there, no cubby and designated space for their stuff was prepared for them (They both did not have one when we departed either), a few days in, we realized that we were not getting updates about our son's naps and about anything else really, pictures and activity posts were rare the entire 6 weeks they were there, we confronted management about this and got told that they do not really use the app, which was the contrary to what they advertised during the tour. Our daughter (3 years) never seemed to warm up to this daycare at any point. We were used to hearing about her day in the past and that stopped as soon as she started to attend there. Through talking to her, we found out that there was almost no "circle time" (curriculum), not much arts and crafts, only playtime basically and that she was taught Spanish. She came home with various bruises and wounds without the daycare offering a report or a message explaining what happened for any of those cases. One positive exception in this daycare was our son's (1 year) lead teacher (Miriam), she genuinely cared about him and even after departing we are convinced that she does a great job overall, just her lack of use of English and her mainly speaking Spanish with our son was not ideal and caused some communication issues. After receiving some sort of a meal plan for the first 2 weeks, we never received one again in the app or anywhere else afterwards, so we did not know what our children were eating nor how much they ate. Our son's teacher mentioned that he has dry diapers often, which concerned us greatly of course, so we wanted updates which we then never received, in the last 2 weeks our son seemed more and more unhappy being there, the teachers reported that he was not eating or drinking and not himself, they sounded caring, but also overwhelmed at the same time, he is/was teething, so that is normal behavior to expect, but he ate and drank perfectly fine at home, the second to last day he attended he got bitten by another child, no one told us about it and I discovered the bite myself during bath time. Reporting any injuries in an appropriate time and manner, especially bite marks, is a legal requirement here in the State of Washington for obvious reasons. So after that last incident and our son getting bitten again the very next day, we decided to pull our children out of this daycare and we CANNOT recommend this place to anyone unfortunately. Communication between the morning and afternoon teachers appeared to not exist and it was very clear towards the end that the expectations we had and that the lead staff had of their teachers were not met. Quite frankly, it appears that management, especially the director (Patty), do not know what is going on in the classrooms at all. We are still waiting to here back from management or the owners after we shared our experience with the leading staff.
EllieJul 27, 2026What they advertised during the tour is far from what you get in reality once you're enrolled.
Donald JJul 14, 2026I have had all three of my children attend here, and I can honestly say that this is the best childcare/preschool they have attended. All the staff is so warm and welcoming, if there are any miscommunication they are resolved by the Director, who is so understanding and easy to talk to, the Lillio app is so helpful to send messages and pictures, and they help prepare your children to go into kindergarten. They really go above and beyond for the kids here. You can tell they really care about the children here and treat them as their own. I would highly recommend this place to family and friends.
Maria GarciaFeb 2, 2026I am so grateful for this daycare. My son has attended for two years, and I have seen tremendous progress in his learning, communication, and confidence. The staff is so caring and patient, and they always make me feel at ease leaving him in a safe and loving environment. You can see the dedication they have to each child and the incredibly positive atmosphere they create. He truly loves his teachers; he talks about them as family every day. I would definitely recommend this daycare to other families.
Arce AvilaFeb 2, 2026I absolutely love this facility super clean and great staff! The teachers are so patient with my baby who has had a hard time adjusting. They are all so warm and welcoming. They take great care of the kiddos! Also love the app for easy communication and pictures throughout the day.
Cierrah DunbarrJun 24, 2025I have only good things to say about Rainbow River. My son has been going here for 2 years and he absolutely loves it. The teachers and Patty are all very responsive and helpful in making him feel welcome and safe.
