  • Amazing place to spend an hour or two! We stopped on our way from chicago to eau claire for a break. Kids had a blast and we went for a hike and did a scavenger hunt! Free to visit and staff was friendly and helpful. Great for families!

  • This is a wonderful nature center with beautiful hiking trails that wind through restored prairie and wetland habitats. It's a peaceful place to explore and a great destination for families and nature lovers alike. The center offers a preschool nature program along with many free or affordable educational activities for children on weekends and throughout the summer. We attended a guided walk focused on insects, and it was both fun and informative. The prairie was especially beautiful, with colorful wildflowers in full bloom, making the experience even more enjoyable. The learning center is also well done, featuring interactive exhibits and educational displays about Aldo Leopold's life, conservation work, and lasting impact on environmental stewardship. Overall, it's a fantastic place to learn, explore, and spend time outdoors. Highly recommended!

  • We had our wedding at the Aldo Leopold Nature Center in May and it was the perfect venue! The staff was very helpful, knowledgable, and helped to make everything possible. When we looked at venues, we knew we wanted to pick a place where our money would support a local non-profit. ALNC was a perfect fit and we would recommend this to anyone looking for a venue.

  • My husband and I held our wedding at the Aldo Leopold Nature Center (ALNC) in May and everything about the space was perfect. Rebecca and her team are kind, organized, responsive, and patient, all the qualities you are looking for in a venue coordinator. The ceremony was absolutely beautiful and having the reception space so close by was so easy for our guests who mostly came in from out of town. We loved that the money we paid went directly back to their programming. If you are looking for a beautiful space to get married while also supporting a great cause, we highly recommend ALNC!

  • We held our wedding at ALNC in September and absolutely loved the experience! The natural beauty of the nature center makes for a wonderful backdrop for the ceremony, and we loved having access to the trails for photos. The staff of ALNC went above and beyond on the lead up to and day of the wedding. The other thing we loved about ALNC was knowing that the proceeds of our wedding would be going to help promote education in our local community.

  • We rented ALNC for our wedding and could not have been happier with the experience. Rebecca and staff were incredibly friendly, professional and efficient. The day went incredibly smooth and the location was beautiful inside and out!

Questions parents ask about ALDO LEOPOLD NATURE CENTER

Is ALDO LEOPOLD NATURE CENTER a licensed child care provider in Wisconsin?

ALDO LEOPOLD NATURE CENTER holds Wisconsin licence 5000587315-002, listed as "LICENSED" by the Wisconsin Department of Children and Families in Dane County, licensed since 2019-10-21. Confirm current standing on the state's provider search at childcarefinder.wisconsin.gov before enrolling.

What is ALDO LEOPOLD NATURE CENTER's YoungStar rating?

YoungStar rates ALDO LEOPOLD NATURE CENTER 3 stars out of five. The rating covers staff education, the learning environment, business practices and child well-being, not inspection outcomes, and it is separate from the licence.

What are ALDO LEOPOLD NATURE CENTER's hours?

The state directory lists 07:30 AM-05:30 PM, Jan-Dec, full time. Wisconsin records the daily window but not which days it applies to, and hours change without the licence record changing, so call ahead.

What ages does ALDO LEOPOLD NATURE CENTER take?

The licence covers 2 years 6 months to 11 years 11 months. That is the span Wisconsin licenses the provider for, not a list of the rooms it runs, so ask which age groups it is actually staffing.

Does this page show inspection results for ALDO LEOPOLD NATURE CENTER?

No. Wisconsin publishes licensing violations for each provider, and none of them are included here, so nothing on this page reflects ALDO LEOPOLD NATURE CENTER's inspection history either way. Read the violation record on the state's provider search at childcarefinder.wisconsin.gov.
