KIDZ CHOICE LEARNING CENTER

My son attended Kidz Choice for over a year. During that time, we never had any concerns or prior allegations involving abuse or neglect. One day, my son arrived at daycare with a bruise on his face. Rather than contacting me to discuss the situation, CPS was immediately called. This resulted in an extremely traumatic experience for both my son and our family. CPS came to our home and temporarily removed my child while an investigation was conducted. Thankfully, after a medical evaluation, the doctor confirmed there were no signs of abuse and that the bruise was minor and consistent with normal toddler activity. My son was safely returned home, but the emotional distress caused by the situation was significant. As the parent of an active toddler, I understand that occasional bumps and bruises can happen during everyday play. In this case, there was no swelling, no indication of pain, and no previous history or evidence suggesting abuse. I fully understand that daycare providers are mandated reporters and must take concerns seriously. However, I believe situations like this should also involve communication, reasonable judgment, and consideration of a child’s overall history and well-being. What makes this situation especially concerning to me is that the mark was not present when I dropped my son off at daycare that morning. While I appreciate that CPS ultimately handled the matter professionally and determined there was no abuse, the overall experience was deeply upsetting and emotionally difficult for our family. Based on my personal experience, I would not choose to send my child here again.
