I truly wanted to love Lake Edge Learning Center; however, our experience was below average. We were enrolled for only about a month and a half, and from the very beginning, drop-offs were extremely difficult. Initially, I assumed this was simply a transition period. Unfortunately, staff provided little to no support during drop-off when my child was crying. I vividly remember our first day: we walked into the classroom and had to search for the teacher, who was in the back of the room folding towels. They did not stop what they were doing to acknowledge us or assist with the transition. As time went on, drop-offs did not improve—in fact, they worsened to the point where my child did not even want to enter the building. My children had been in daycare for about a year prior, and this behavior had never occurred before. Knowing how challenging mornings were, I frequently reached out to staff to check in and see how things were going. Messages often went unanswered. On one occasion, my mother dropped my son off and overheard a staff member say to him while he was crying, “I am not dealing with this today, [child’s name]!” This was deeply concerning. I scheduled a meeting with administration and the teacher to address my concerns. While I felt listened to during the meeting, nothing changed afterward. Communication remained minimal, and drop-offs continued to be distressing. Secondly, although we were only there for a short time during the summer, my children were sick more often than ever before. They contracted hand, foot, and mouth disease three separate times. Our home was thoroughly cleaned, and we followed strict hand hygiene practices to prevent reinfection, yet the illness continued to return. For a center that advertises itself as nature-based, I felt the programming did not differ from a standard daycare. Aside from classroom pets, there was little evidence of nature-based learning. During our tour, we were told children would attend monthly field trips to a nearby nature preserve. Neither of my children attended a single field trip during our enrollment. I even offered to volunteer as a chaperone and was told there were no planned trips for the foreseeable future. Another major concern was building security. The center is connected to a church with which it is not affiliated. During our tour, we were told a staff member would be stationed between the daycare and church whenever church personnel were present. However, there were multiple occasions when non-daycare staff or families were present in the church and had easy access to the daycare without any staff monitoring or restricting access. The final straw occurred during a drop-off when my son refused to get out of the car. I had to nearly carry him inside and informed staff that he was having a particularly hard morning. One staff member did not get up to assist, and another was busy doing their daughter’s hair. I dropped my daughter off in another room, assuming staff would help comfort my son. As I was leaving, I could still hear him crying. No one attempted to help him transition. He developed a stress rash and was clearly distressed. I raised all of these concerns with staff, administration, and even the owner. Ultimately, I withdrew my children immediately. Since starting at our new daycare, we have not experienced a single issue with drop-off.
Samantha BrylaDec 30, 2025Our family is so thankful for Lake Edge. Our daughter started at 3 months old and I was really nervous about leaving her when I went back to work, but Lake Edge made the transition easy on our little one and easy on me by sending update and photos, really easing my nervous mom energy. As our little one has grown she is enjoying new experiences all the time at Lake Edge, and I know that she loves it there because after taking a little family trip we were walking into the building and she squealed in excitement when she recognized where we were (she was only 10 months old, but she clearly loves her time at daycare) The staff is wonderful and I know that my daughter is not only well cared for but also enriched by the curriculum and outside time that the school clearly prioritizes. We love that even the little ones get to go outside regularly, our daughter loves going on stroller walks with her class. I can't say enough positive things about the teachers, the school is fantastic because of them and the support staff.
Anika ChervenockMay 29, 2025We enrolled our son at Lake Edge last fall and have been so happy! Our son has learned so much and is thriving here. Transitioning to daycare is hard but they were so kind and supportive to our son and our family. The staff and teachers are absolutely wonderful and very communicative throughout the day. They send lots of pictures as well which helps ease any worries. My son looks forward to going every day and has made great connections with other kids as well as his teachers. The nature based aspect is great- we love that they spend so much time outside and are learning about nature. We would recommend Lake Edge to anyone!
Marissa KnorrMay 29, 2025⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We’ve had such a wonderful experience with Lake Edge Learning Center! The staff is kind, attentive, and truly cares about each child. Our daughter has absolutely thrived there — she’s learning, growing, and coming home happy every day. It gives us such peace of mind knowing she’s in such a safe, nurturing environment. We’re so grateful for everything the team does and highly recommend Lake Edge to any family looking for quality care in the Neenah area!
Jennifer SchmidtMay 29, 2025Our Family absolutely loves Lake Edge. We switched daycares end of last summer, and we've seen such great transformation in them in such a short period of time. The Teachers and support staff are amazing and they communicate with you very well. We would recommend this daycare to anyone.
Danielle SysingerMay 29, 2025Our daughter (2.5) has been attending Lake Edge for several months now and we’ve been so happy with it! Prior to this we had private care but had been looking for a few months to get her enrolled in a daycare for more group activities and socialization. She has thrived with the transition to someplace so warm and welcoming! She loves going to “school”, her teachers, and has made so many friends. They are great about keeping us updated via their app on her day, and we love getting pictures of her fun activities. They are quick to notify us about everything from events to boo boos. We’ve felt so lucky to have care here and we are grateful for the awesome teachers and staff!

Questions parents ask about LAKE EDGE LEARNING CENTER
Is LAKE EDGE LEARNING CENTER a licensed child care provider in Wisconsin?
- LAKE EDGE LEARNING CENTER holds Wisconsin licence 5000591305-001, listed as "LICENSED" by the Wisconsin Department of Children and Families in Winnebago County, licensed since 2023-06-01. Confirm current standing on the state's provider search at childcarefinder.wisconsin.gov before enrolling.
What is LAKE EDGE LEARNING CENTER's YoungStar rating?
- YoungStar rates LAKE EDGE LEARNING CENTER 2 stars out of five. The rating covers staff education, the learning environment, business practices and child well-being, not inspection outcomes, and it is separate from the licence.
What are LAKE EDGE LEARNING CENTER's hours?
- The state directory lists 07:00 AM-05:30 PM, Jan-Dec, full time. Wisconsin records the daily window but not which days it applies to, and hours change without the licence record changing, so call ahead.
What ages does LAKE EDGE LEARNING CENTER take?
- The licence covers 6 weeks to 11 years 11 months. That is the span Wisconsin licenses the provider for, not a list of the rooms it runs, so ask which age groups it is actually staffing.
Does this page show inspection results for LAKE EDGE LEARNING CENTER?
- No. Wisconsin publishes licensing violations for each provider, and none of them are included here, so nothing on this page reflects LAKE EDGE LEARNING CENTER's inspection history either way. Read the violation record on the state's provider search at childcarefinder.wisconsin.gov.
