MONONA GROVE NURSERY SCHOOL INC

My kids have been attending this school since 2021. We love the warm, play-based learning environment. We especially love the Toddler Time program (so much so that each kid did it twice!) as it's a gentle introduction that I was able to go with my kids to in order to get them used to the school and meet other families before moving on to preschool. Both of my kids have learned so much independence and life skills from attending here. The teachers and staff are the best! I would recommend this to any family in the Madison area.

We have had a wonderful experience sending both of our children to MGNS and are so thankful we found them! The staff and families who attend create such a welcoming environment for all who walk through the doors. Between their play-based learning environment and small classroom sizes, our children absolutely love going to school. We are so thankful for MGNS!

My daughter attended MGNS for over three years, starting with their incredible Toddler Time program (it's like intro to Preschool!), then two years in their Penguin class (two half days/week preschool), and finally ending her time there with an incredible year as a Sea Otter (4 half days/week afternoon 4k through MMSD!). MGNS was a wonderful first school experience for her. Their focus on play, especially outdoor play in all weather, was so beneficial during these early years. She learned so many valuable social emotional skills here too and created some lasting friendships. I also created lasting friendships with many of the parents I met while here. As a parent co-op there are lots of opportunities to get involved and plenty of fun events throughout the school year to socialize at! I heartily recommend this school to anyone looking for their kiddo's first school. And when you get to 4k don't sleep on the afternoon Sea Otter class! My daughter was no longer napping at that point and having someplace safe and fun for her to go during those loooong afternoon hours was sanity saving for me!

My daughter attended both preschool (2days/wk) and 4K at MGNS, and it was such a wonderful experience for her & our family. She is a very shy child, and her time at MGNS really brought her out of her shell, increasing her confidence. All of her Teachers were just wonderful- loving, knowledgeable, and great at promoting independence & individuality in the kids. As a family, we just loved our time with this school, and were sad to move on! I cannot say enough good things about the MGNS program & community. In fact, we loved it so much, we continued having our daughter attend even after moving 20 minutes away halfway through the first year! So worth the drive for such a positive beginning school experience, as our daughter LOVES school now :).

My daughter loved her experiences in the 3yo room. She felt safe to explore and play with so many options from make believe, music, arts and crafts to sensory projects. She made friends, and constantly talks about next year in true 4K room. We are looking forward to Toddler Time with our 2yo and 4K! Thanks MGNS for providing a solid start on our education journey!
