Our family has been a part of Northstar Early Learning Center for years, with all three of our children attending the program. Each of our kids has had their own unique and wonderful journey here, shaped by individual learning and behavioral challenges, the impact of COVID-19, and other life events. Throughout it all, the support and care from the Northstar team have been unwavering. We've never had a negative experience. The center has consistently handled challenges with professionalism, transparency, and genuine care for the children and their families. While turnover is inevitable in any program, we’ve found stability and continuity in the fact that many of the lead teachers have been there for years, providing familiar faces and trusted relationships. Northstar offers a well-rounded experience that goes beyond standard childcare. The food program is excellent, and the enrichment activities — including water days, yoga, ASL, Spanish classes, and more — contribute to a dynamic and engaging environment. The live-stream cameras provide peace of mind for parents, and the convenience of having the district 4K program on site is a significant benefit. The facility itself is impressive, with a large outdoor playground and a dedicated large muscle room as an indoor alternative. The management team is outstanding — responsive, engaged, and truly invested in the well-being of the children. The involvement of the owners is also evident, which speaks volumes about the center’s commitment to quality. We wholeheartedly recommend Northstar Early Learning Center to any family looking for a nurturing, enriching, and reliable early education experience.
Roger MillerJul 24, 2025My daughter has attended NorthStar for almost 8 months. As a first time parent with an infant, I was nervous to leave her with “strangers”. All teachers have been wonderful with her since day one. She has always appeared to like it there and never has had any issues with us dropping her off. The apps are great to have communication and to be able to see the care being provided. I continue to be impressed with the activities and crafts that they do with those as young as a couple of months old.
Larissa BarrNov 24, 2023This has been our first daycare experience and my husband and I are overall very satisfied. My son is happy and enjoys daycare. He seems to have made special bonds with a few of his teachers which is very sweet. The teachers have been good about communication through the app and at drop off/pick up, and the cameras are a great bonus. I know he is well cared for and the video footage reaffirms that when I see the teachers interacting with him especially if he’s having a difficult day. I also appreciate that a lot of the teachers are familiar with all of the kids, not just the ones in their own classrooms.
Kate CarterAug 31, 2023I’ve been satisfied with the management and teachers at Northstar. Our son seems to enjoy his time there and his teachers seem caring and attentive. They are supportive during difficult drop offs for our daughter, who doesn’t like to be away from mom and dad. I also like that they have cameras that allow us to see our kids and a convenient app that they use to send updates throughout the day. The only negative is that there seems to be high turnover for the teachers, but that seems common and has also been our experience at all other daycares we’ve been too.
Megan EckAug 3, 2023Our daughter has been to three public daycare facilities, and Northstar has been the best by far! Our daughter loves Nothstar. She loves her teachers, they are like family to her! The fun activities, indoors and outdoors, the experiences and the knowledge she has gained throughout her 2 years have been wonderful! Our daughter does have a severe food allergy, which we have had a few issues regarding, but they were addressed immediately, and no concerns since. There seems to be a bit of staff turnover, but that's everywhere nowadays, though the teacher in my daughter's room has been there since she stared. Overall, we like Northstar and would recommend it!
Casey DenashaAug 2, 2023I have had my child at Northstar for about a month now and I’ve been impressed so far. I like the app they use, although I have not used the video option yet I appreciate that it is there. My son is excited for school each day. They were very helpful in potty training, they have a large outdoor play area and even a indoor large motor area. It’s the best playground I saw in all my daycare tours. I find communication with admin is generally less compared to the other daycare we were at, however, there were 4 people working in the office at our old daycare (which was about the same size as this one). I think the director has a lot on her plate and she carries it well. Overall it’s a great place to be, my son enjoys his time there, and he is learning a lot. We love it and intend on staying for the foreseeable future.

Questions parents ask about NORTHSTAR EARLY LEARNING CENTER
Is NORTHSTAR EARLY LEARNING CENTER a licensed child care provider in Wisconsin?
- NORTHSTAR EARLY LEARNING CENTER holds Wisconsin licence 3000589773-001, listed as "LICENSED" by the Wisconsin Department of Children and Families in La Crosse County, licensed since 2019-05-18. Confirm current standing on the state's provider search at childcarefinder.wisconsin.gov before enrolling.
What is NORTHSTAR EARLY LEARNING CENTER's YoungStar rating?
- YoungStar rates NORTHSTAR EARLY LEARNING CENTER 3 stars out of five. The rating covers staff education, the learning environment, business practices and child well-being, not inspection outcomes, and it is separate from the licence.
What are NORTHSTAR EARLY LEARNING CENTER's hours?
- The state directory lists 06:00 AM-06:00 PM, Jan-Dec, full time. Wisconsin records the daily window but not which days it applies to, and hours change without the licence record changing, so call ahead.
What ages does NORTHSTAR EARLY LEARNING CENTER take?
- The licence covers 6 weeks to 7 years 11 months. That is the span Wisconsin licenses the provider for, not a list of the rooms it runs, so ask which age groups it is actually staffing.
Does this page show inspection results for NORTHSTAR EARLY LEARNING CENTER?
- No. Wisconsin publishes licensing violations for each provider, and none of them are included here, so nothing on this page reflects NORTHSTAR EARLY LEARNING CENTER's inspection history either way. Read the violation record on the state's provider search at childcarefinder.wisconsin.gov.
