Some of the staff up front can be nice, but no one here takes responsability except blaiming people under them or not responding to emails, phone calls etc, the place always smells bad when we've visted, parking lot is a wreck. No one is maintaining anything. Weeds everywhere. Deserves every one star on google. Will never come back here. Also I used to work for the YMCA and know this place can do better. It's an awful shame.
Caleb DillmanJul 29, 2026I signed up for a membership over the weekend, paid my dues, completed all required forms, and was able to use the gym on Saturday and Sunday without any issues. When I returned on Monday, the employee at the front desk informed me that there was no photo on my account. I immediately agreed to have my picture taken. However, she then stated that she needed to see my ID. I explained that I had already been issued a membership card, my account was active, and all fees had been paid, so I was confused about the issue. She advised me that a photo of my ID on my phone would be sufficient, so I showed her the photo. After reviewing it, she changed her position and stated that she needed a physical ID so it could be scanned into the system. She then attempted to contact a manager, but no manager came to assist, leaving me standing at the front desk waiting with no explanation. At that point, I decided to leave and resolve the matter another day. As I was walking out, a male employee chased after me with a walkie-talkie, treating the situation as though I had committed some serious violation. I was a legitimate paying member with an active membership, yet I was made to feel like I had done something wrong simply because a photo had not yet been added to my account. The entire situation was unnecessary, embarrassing, and highly unprofessional. In the end, they took my picture anyway, and I have no issue providing my physical ID when requested. However, being publicly chased down over what was ultimately an administrative issue was completely inappropriate. There was no reason for the situation to be handled in such an aggressive manner. I expect members to be treated with professionalism and respect, and this experience fell far below that standard.
Sara JamesJun 1, 2026Love going to this gym. Location is great from my home. I feel that it is accessible for all. We appreciate the caring staff in the childcare. They make a great effort to have relationships with their families. Liberty and other staff we see daily give us a warm welcome and appear to genuinely care for my children. I recommend the YMCA to any moms who are looking for a gym with good childcare.
Amber PeplinskiMay 21, 2026YMCA has been a great fit for our family of four. The gym is clean and well-equipped, the front desk staff are always friendly and welcoming, and the classes are excellent. The Child Watch is a huge plus—safe, caring, and so convenient. There’s truly something for everyone, and it makes staying active as a family easy and enjoyable.
Kayan MalshyApr 20, 2026Yoga instructors Are incredibly rude regarding cell phone use In adult class and treat us like children regarding that matter, but more seriously a chair, yoga instructor Locked the door after class started in order to not allow further members to get in and make her point about attendance. The music is also loud as usual. Research shows that this is in violation of fire code and after further discussion with many other members, we are considering reporting this to the local fire department. Certainly if this happens again, there are many of us members who will call the fire department immediately
Peter McGuireMar 30, 2026This is a very nice YMCA. It is kept very clean. Nice pool and Whirlpool. Lots of weight machines and also free weights. They also have two basketball courts that they also play volleyball in.

Questions parents ask about WEST SUBURBAN YMCA DAY CAMP
Is WEST SUBURBAN YMCA DAY CAMP a licensed child care provider in Wisconsin?
- WEST SUBURBAN YMCA DAY CAMP holds Wisconsin licence 4000558914-014, listed as "LICENSED" by the Wisconsin Department of Children and Families in Milwaukee County, licensed since 2015-05-27. Confirm current standing on the state's provider search at childcarefinder.wisconsin.gov before enrolling.
What is WEST SUBURBAN YMCA DAY CAMP's YoungStar rating?
- YoungStar rates WEST SUBURBAN YMCA DAY CAMP 2 stars out of five. The rating covers staff education, the learning environment, business practices and child well-being, not inspection outcomes, and it is separate from the licence.
What are WEST SUBURBAN YMCA DAY CAMP's hours?
- The state directory lists 07:00 AM-06:00 PM, Jun-Aug, full time. Wisconsin records the daily window but not which days it applies to, and hours change without the licence record changing, so call ahead.
What ages does WEST SUBURBAN YMCA DAY CAMP take?
- The licence covers 5 years to 13 years 11 months. That is the span Wisconsin licenses the provider for, not a list of the rooms it runs, so ask which age groups it is actually staffing.
Does this page show inspection results for WEST SUBURBAN YMCA DAY CAMP?
- No. Wisconsin publishes licensing violations for each provider, and none of them are included here, so nothing on this page reflects WEST SUBURBAN YMCA DAY CAMP's inspection history either way. Read the violation record on the state's provider search at childcarefinder.wisconsin.gov.
