  When my daughter was 3, we made the heart wrenching decision to withdraw her from the facility she had went to since she was a tiny baby. I was searching for a preschool more in line with my husband and I's parenting style and beliefs. Finding Diana at All God's Children was truly a God thing! My daughter just started her 3rd year here, and I cannot tell you the difference this preschool has made in our lives. I have a very spirited, active and stubborn little redhead, so I was looking for somewhere that would allow her personality and creativity to be nurtured, but also provide boundaries where kindness and respect for each other and the things around them was instilled. Diana has a special gift as a teacher that is almost indescribable at doing all of the above. She makes them feel important and treats them with respect and lights a fire in them about learning! She told me when I first met with her that if a child loved school so much that they could not wait to get there each day, she had done her job well. At the time, I was thinking to myself "good luck with that" as my daughter was not all that crazy about her old school and it was only reluctantly and with a lot of prodding that she got there each morning. Fast forward three years, and my daughter cannot wait to get to school each day. She skips down the hall ahead of me and can't wait to see what the day will bring! So Teacher Diana, YOU HAVE DONE YOUR JOB WELL. Her and her staff of wonderful, caring and nurturing ladies go above and beyond on a daily basis. You will know this when you open the door and smell homemade muffins baking, then travel down to the classroom and see the hands-on learning that occurs, which may be watching the coccoon being formed right there in the classroom then watching the butterflies emerge, or seeing how much their pumpkin plant has grown since yesterday, or seeing if their project is dry, or learning about the parts of ladybug. These ladies make learning fun every day, and the children are kind to each other, treat each other with respect , and I could not feel more blessed for finding this wonderful school! There was a quote included on the last newsletter that came home, and it says: "Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire." - by William Butler Yeats At All God's Children Preschool, they light the fire.
