  My daughter attended Somos Amigos for 3 years, from ages 8 to 11. I was beyond impressed with how quickly she picked up the language. The teachers are all amazing and kind. They take the time to teach each student based on where they are in their Spanish language journey. My daughter tested into the immersion program as a 6th grader and made it into the program, and that was only possible because of her teachers at Somos who encouraged her to keep at it. We love Somos Amigos and are so happy we got to be a part of this school for a few years. :)

  As a bilingual family, it was important to me for my kids to keep a strong Spanish foundation and practice as much as possible. I cannot say enough great things about this preschool. I had two of my kids attend and they both absolutely loved it. In fact, my oldest who is now in elementary continues to say how much she loved going there. The organized monthly playdates are a huge plus to those of us without families in Alaska. Maestra Karim and her staff is incredibly warm and nurturing and go above and beyond to make kids feel welcomed and valued. I have recommended to many of our friends and will continue to do so.

  Somos Amigos is absolutely the best! It is fantastic not just as an immersion school, but as an education center overall, catering to both children and adults. The learning environment inspires students to be creative and to thrive through activities that are equally fun and engaging. We have been part of the school for a year and a half now, in which my two kids have participated in the after-school program and summer camps. Learning is enhanced through several field trips that take place throughout the year, creating a sense of community amongst the parents as well. Maestra Denise, Maestra Karim, and all the other teachers are amazing--you can immediately see the love and affection the kids have towards them, and that they have for the kids. Furthermore, I can also say that my kids were extremely well-prepared for the transition to the Spanish Immersion program at the public school this year. My youngest entered kindergarten knowing all the basics (letters, numbers, colors, shapes, days of the week, etc.), giving him a solid foundation and the confidence to perform well. My oldest, who originally missed the kindergarten/first grade cut-off dates, was able to acquire a level of reading, writing, and speaking in Spanish sufficient enough to test into the program at the second grade level. She could not have done it without Somos Amigos. We now have child #3 that we can't wait to put in the preschool program. We are so happy!

  The adult classes through Somos Amigos are absolutely phenomenal. The amount you will learn will astonish you, all thanks to the hands-on and interactive method of teaching. You cannot beat the combination of quality, affordability, and fun you will find at Somos Amigos. If you are looking for a place to learn Spanish, it is guaranteed you will find the right class and group of great people waiting for you, regardless if you are wanting to learn Spanish or already have a Spanish-speaking background. I am thankful for Denise and all the amazing teachers at Somos Amigos.

  When looking for childcare, we came across Somos Amigos, and I am glad we did. I am Hispanic and did not grow up in a Spanish-speaking household. I wanted to provide my children the opportunity to appreciate the language and culture my family comes from. Almost three years later, I cannot say enough great things about Somos Amigos. My three kids love their friends and Maestras. The Maestras have great communication, know when the kids are sick [before you do], and love the kids like they are familia. I have already observed my kids value friendship with their Somos Amigos friends, language, and culture. I know my children will be ready for kindergarten and have friends for a lifetime. ¡Gracias, Somos Amigos!

  Estoy infinitamente agradecida y feliz con la escuela por todo lo que hace por mi hijo, llegó diciendo unas muy pocas palabras y ahora dice tantas palabras por tanta estimulación y enseñanza que él ha recibido, además él muy feliz de ir a su escuela y es para todas las edades! Mi hijo tiene dos años! 5 estrellas!! Se los recomiendo para aprender o mantener el español❤️💐 son muy profesionales!
