What California does not publish here
The state publishes when licensing staff visited, not what they found. We do not hold California’s inspection findings, so nothing on this page tells you whether a visit resulted in a citation. A visit count is a measure of licensing activity, and a facility visited more often is not for that reason a worse one. Read the findings in California’s own facility search.

I have nothing but good things to say about Brightspot Early Learning Center. The space is clean and the staff is great. Everyone seems genuine and caring for all of the kids. They provide lots of activities ranging from art, plant care, and insect studies along with frequent trips outside to Golden Gate Park. This has been our first daycare experience and I don’t see how any other place can top it. The teachers provide frequent updates throughout the day and send out a weekly newsletter summarizing the week. They actively submit questionnaires for feedback. I can’t recommend this place enough!
K_ ElJul 20, 2023We feel so lucky to have our daughter at Bright Spot ELC. She started in April when she was 6 months old and it’s been a great experience. We were nervous about daycare and Jessie and the teachers welcomed us into the classroom to help with the transition and we’ve been happy there ever since. The space is always clean and organized with age appropriate toys. The staff are warm and genuinely care for the kids. They communicate well and we get updates through an app and usually a little recap of her day at pickup. We love getting photos of the infant’s adventures in the park, art projects and school parties. We would definitely recommend Bright Spot to other parents!
Lauren StahlJul 20, 2023Our son has been attending Bright Spot ELC since they opened earlier this year. He was 6 months old when he started, and we feel very lucky to have found this team of extraordinary teachers, in a great location. As first time parents, we were quite anxious about finding the best care for our son - we did our research, explored all child-care options (nanny, nanny-share, in-home daycare, etc), toured many different facilities, and ultimately felt Bright Spot was the best fit for us, and our child. I've personally spent time at Bright Spot with my child and the teachers, and you can feel that all the caregivers genuinely care about each child- they are very loving with the kids, and make it a point to connect with them and build trust (which was super important to us). Any time I've dropped in, you never see the caregivers on their phones or distracted, they're ALWAYS engaging with the children. They have a great curriculum focused on learning and development, and our son has had great socialization with other infants, as well as toddlers. He's hit all of his milestones while under their care, and he now gets upset when it's time to leave for the day. Being so close to Golden Gate Park, the kids get outside everyday, spending time in the park, having picnics and exploring, and going to the Cal Academy of Sciences (they have a membership!). We love getting pictures of our little guy enjoying these adventures. They're very quick to respond to messages during the day (or night!) and are also great with proactively communicating to stay engaged with the parents. The teachers and leaders are committed to continuing to build this community, and we feel very lucky we get to be a part of the Bright Spots family. Highly recommend Bright Spot!
Lauren DJul 18, 2023A wonderful new center that opened at the start of this year. Our 22-month-old is rather bashful, and struggled with other daycare/nanny options we tested (i.e. lots of tears at drop-off), but she's been such a happy camper since Day 1 at Brightspot. In fact, she puts up a fight when it's time to leave! And it's not hard to understand why. The toddlers go on DAILY field trips, making great use of their proximity to Golden Gate Park. So one day they'll go to the Botanical Garden, the next day they'll go to the Academy of Science, the next day they'll go to the playground. And we get adorable pictures of it all. Brightspot also puts a lot of thought and care into their daily 'curriculum'; last month the kids were learning all about plants (planting seeds; watering them every day, doing art projects with pine cones from the park), this month it'll be insects. The center is also super spacious, which we appreciated in contrast to the small (and often dark) offerings we encountered when touring in-home daycares. And lastly, the teachers are enthusiastic, warm, and clearly love what they do, and the director Jessie is always working to improve things (parent surveys, weekly newsletters, building parent community.) I know this is an unusually long review, but that's the magnitude of our gratitude! It's HARD to find a good daycare spot, and so many of the great ones have years-long waitlists, so to have gotten in on the ground floor of this new center feels enormously lucky. Huge fans over here!
Florian ReichlingJul 11, 2023Jessie is an incredible director! Amazing Space with access to the entire park. Great daily excursions.
