Before finding Chibi Chan, I spent my son's first three years navigating nanny shares and small, in-home daycare arrangements as a solo, full-time working parent. What I didn't anticipate about those first years was the emotional turbulence came with childcare — the uncertainty, the instability, what I came to call "nanny drama." I found Chibi Chan completely by accident when I moved into the neighborhood and could see the children playing from my back window. It proved to be one of the luckiest moments of my life! Finding Chibi Chan felt like the sun breaking through clouds. The professionalism here is real. The staff are genuinely caring, and I felt an immediate sense of relief I hadn't realized was possible. As a working parent, I needed a center that understood my life, and Chibi Chan does. Their hours actually work for people with jobs. Their fees are actually reasonable in a city where almost nothing is. And the trust I have in them is complete. If you're a working parent and you're lucky enough to get a spot here, hold onto it with both hands. I love these people. I genuinely, wholeheartedly love them ... for the care they pour into the children, for the excellent education they provide, for the grace they extend to exhausted parents, and for making our little corner of San Francisco feel just a little bit more like a village.

The school has enough teachers in each classroom, which makes us feel confident that the children receive the attention and care they need. The community is very diverse and welcoming, and we feel a warm and supportive atmosphere every day. The teachers and staff are kind, caring, and professional. Another big advantage is the schedule. The school is open from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM, which is extremely helpful for parents who work full-time. We truly appreciate everything this preschool offers and believe it is one of the best preschools in San Francisco.

The teachers made the effort to get to know her before her first day even happened, making the transition very smooth. We also love the programming--Jamaroo weekly, art projects daily, and plenty of outdoor time. We only wish our son didn't have to wait until turning 2 to join our daughter there!
Olivia RothFeb 13, 2026Our family loves Chibi Chan! The teachers and admin staff there are unbelievably kind and thoughtful. They take great care to prepare the kids for kindergarten, as well as develop their "friendship skills," and offer plenty of extracurricular activities (e.g. taiko drums, dancing, field trips). Our son learned so much -- from learning how to count and the alphabets, to how to use the toilet, to being a good friend, to building his confidence. And he made many good friends there, some of whom we still see regularly, even though he's graduated. One of the things that make Chibi Chan so special is how caring and diverse and the community is (families come from a range of socioeconomic and racial/ethnic backgrounds) and everyone participates in school events. We're looking forward to sending our daughter there this fall (our son is especially excited for her). We'd recommend Chibi Chan wholeheartedly!
Susan TuJan 29, 2026Love this school! I love that there is at least three teachers / staff per class. I have both my kids at this school. The teachers are very understanding and very communicative. They use an app where they communicate with parents in additional to emails. They do weekly newsletter to the families, in addition to weekly progress report. Their time is really good too! Latest drop off time is 6pm which gives parents time to run errands or drop by the grocery store real quick after work before picking up the kids.
