  • Our twins spent just over one beautiful year at Sunflower Hill as three-year-olds, and we couldn't be more grateful for the incredible experience our family had. Our twins adored their teachers, clearly felt safe and cared for, and came home every week with the most beautiful artwork and stories from their days. The facility itself is home-like, warm, and cozy, and the enormous backyard is a magical place where our boys got hours of outdoor time every day. The only reason we're leaving is because they were accepted at the neighborhood school where their older brother attends and that we can walk to! We will always look back so fondly on this season of their life at Sunflower Hill.

  • Sending our daughter to childcare for the very first time was a big step—not just for her, but for us as parents. From the moment we walked into Sunflower Hill Childcare in Lakewood, we felt we had found the most caring, loving, and supportive environment we could have ever hoped for. The intimacy of the drop-off experience—getting to walk her in each morning, share a hug, and wave goodbye through the window—meant the world to us. The teachers held such a warm and understanding space for our whole family, offering helpful tips and genuine emotional support through the transition. Our daughter grew so much during her time here. She learned how to regulate her emotions, play cooperatively with other children, take responsibility for things like tidying up toys, and express herself through the amazing play-based activities, arts, and crafts. The emphasis on creativity and emotional development has been incredible to witness. We are especially thankful to Miss Tina, Miss Naomi, Miss Emily, and Miss Joanie—each of whom made our daughter feel seen, safe, and so loved. It was clear to us that she felt deeply comfortable with them, which made it so much easier for us to trust and relax knowing she was in such good hands. As her first experience being away from us in a daycare/preschool setting, we couldn’t have asked for a more nurturing start. Sunflower Hill is truly a special place, and we’ll always be grateful for the role it played in her early years. We will absolutely miss it.

  • What an absolutely wonderful place for our daughters to attend! The facility is warm, welcoming, and tidy! The teachers are loving and kind. They have fantastic staff retention. The school festivals are extremely sweet. The kids spend so much time outside and the outdoors area is amazing. So magical and lovingly cared for. I cannot say enough about Ms. Tina, the lead teacher- she is a patient soul and the humor and tenderness she shares with the kids and the families is incredible. What a special place! We're sad our kids are old enough for public school!

  • Our family absolutely adores Sunflower Hill! The teachers are so kind and truly love and care for their students. Communication with caregivers is wonderful, and the kids spend so much time outside and learning through the things around them. Though we've moved on to pre-K, our kiddo still talks fondly about the teachers and families she met there and we all miss them dearly.

  • I cannot recommend Sunflower Hill highly enough. My daughter attended this wonderful preschool for two years, and it has been an extraordinary experience. The low teacher turnover meant that the staff were consistent, familiar, and truly invested in the children's growth and development. They provided a nurturing environment where each child felt valued and cared for. My daughter blossomed during her time there. The dedication and love the teachers showed were exceptional, and I am so grateful for the positive impact they've had on my daughter's early years.

  • We had both our kids at Sunflower Hill and absolutely loved it. There was very little teacher turnover, and the teachers were all wonderful and so caring. If you are looking for a preschool that allows lots of play-based learning, teaches kids to be kind and values lots of time in nature, community-building and creativity, this is a great place. Our kids made great friends at Sunflower Hill, and we enjoyed getting to know the other families and teachers through a variety of events and meetups. Our kids thrived with all of the time outdoors and our son was ready for kindergarten when we left. Big thank you to Sunflower Hill for a wonderful experience! We loved it here.
