Newlen is by far, the GREATEST educational center!!! ALL of the staff are very nurturing and loving. They pay attention to each child's needs and treat each child as their own.My son attended Newlen Educational Center, Riggs Road Campus for approximately 1.5 years. We never had a problem and we knew our child was in the right place because he NEVER cried when we dropped him off. He loved being dropped off to his "school" as he affectionately called Newlwen. We watched our son's growth during this time. He started there talking very little, to leaving and talking so much!!! We get so many compliments on our son's speech. Not only is he speaking well, he can say his colors, numbers, and the alphabet in Spanish!!! He can also sign his Alphabets!!!! And he is only THREE!!! He has now started PreK3, and his current teachers are so impressed with our son's development. I can't thank Newlen's staff enough for the love and attention given to my son. I wish I could take everyone with me as we transition to school, but I know they must now foster the love of learning in other children.
Stephanie Sims-CoatesSep 17, 2025Mrs.A is the sweetest human you could ever meet, my children just started and she always look after them. Her spirit is beyond pure and authentic. Can’t find too many people in the world as down to earth as her!
MaeJul 23, 2025The professionalism of the staff members and the warm, welcoming and courteous environment for the children who attend Newlen Earlychildhood, is second to none. Absolutely amazing and innovated child development centre for experienced and relevantly new parents. The children are greeted by their teachers every morning and the parents are updated on every important moment during school hours so that the parents may be included in their children’s daily activities.
Kyle FongAug 9, 2024We started at Newlen’s Michigan Avenue location in the spring of 2022, when our twins were just four months old. We were new parents and really didn’t know what to expect. But the facility was clean, the staff was organized and professional, and the price was competitive. What we have since found is a supportive, caring community that plays a huge part in our daily lives. Trusting a stranger with your child is an odd feeling at first. We got over that very quickly. There is a wonderful, confident calm after we drop off our (now) toddlers every morning. We know they are loved and cared for at Newlen, as they are at home. On multiple occasions, our kids have turned around and run back to hug a teacher before leaving at night. It’s the small, personal touches that make such a big difference. The way Ms. DeJesus greets us in the morning with a big smile and an enthusiastic, “good morning, my beautiful family!” The way Ms. A goes out of her way to speak French to our children after we asked about it just once. The way Ms. Reina continues to watch over our kids even after they moved up to the toddler room. The way Mr. Lennon talks soccer with our kids even though they only know “ball.” The way they had our kids sit for surprise holiday photos. The way the staff sent balloons and a card when one of us had surgery. And then there’s the time we posted a concerned message in the app after hours, not expecting a response until the next day – Dr. Lennon called immediately and conferenced in a teacher who had more information. The team at Newlen cares. Our daughter was diagnosed with cerebral palsy last year and has some physical challenges. Newlen has collaborated with our physical and occupational therapists, allowing them to do therapy sessions regularly on site. Our therapists even noted that the teachers watch closely and ask questions so they can help our daughter between sessions. And she is thriving. We thought hard to find weaknesses here – no one is 100% perfect! Newlen closes at 5:00, and those early pickups can require a little more planning. We also wish we had a staff directory (or even just name tags) so we could better recognize everyone on the team. But that’s really just so we can appropriately thank the staff. Each of these is insignificant compared to all the great things happening at Newlen. Our children are thriving at Newlen, and so are we. Newlen clearly has excellent leadership at the top, and we see little staff turnover as a result. They hire, train, and retain good people. We trust them with our twins every day, and do so without reservation.
Maxwell BehrensSep 28, 2023Our son entered Newlen at 7 months at the new facility and he has been there just over a year now. He is thriving, and loves going to “baby school.” He is happy to see all of his caregivers. Dr. Lennon and her team have all been incredibly warm and caring with him. There is an app that allows for easy communication with staff and allows parents to keep up with their schedule and see the highlights of their day. It is also one of the most affordable options in the greater Brookland/Michigan Park/Woodbridge area, especially for the quality and trust you have with the caregivers.
Susan DavisApr 22, 2023Newlen is a fantastic daycare! Since day 1, when I was 9 months pregnant, the staff at Newlen not only found a spot for me, but made me feel welcomed and wanted. They are great communicators, loving and caring to BOTH my children now, and overall a very special daycare. I honestly couldn't be happier. Miss Morgan takes special care of my oldest - she is truly his second mom! We love her and everyone there. The Newlen staff are family to my family. Thank you all for everything you do! ❤️
