  • We truly had the best experience at Little Hoku! Ms. Shadi and Ms. Stephanie are communicative, dedicated, and compassionate. When we first started, my 3 year old really struggled with anxiety and meltdowns during drop-off (as she had at her previous Montessori school). Ms. Stephanie worked closely with us to try different approaches until we found a way that worked for my daughter. That patience and compassion made a huge difference for us, and was leaps and bounds better than what we'd experienced at our mainland preschools. The community of parents/families is also wonderful. Obviously the group changes a bit each year, but we really lucked out while we were there. There is a playground in the front of the school where everyone gathers to play and chat after dismissal. It made for a great sense of community. I highly recommend Little Hoku :)

  • so heartbroken. I had the funding, I did the evaluation. and my child was denied because "our program is designed as a three-year journey" which is not the case for his 3 friends that are the same age as him (four) and go to the same play schools together since they were 2. I didn't realize preschool was so cut throat and ran by such judgmental people. Shadi Naderi brushed me off the phone and sent a ridiculous email and never responded to any questions. good luck fellow parents.

  • Our son has been at Little Hoku for 2 years and it has been an incredible gift to watch him blossom. The environment and curriculum is classic Montessori philosophy. Miss Eva is such a caring and creative teacher and the support staff is incredible. We love everything about this school and are looking forward to our sons last year and will be sad to leave.

  • My son has been in the program for 3 years and its been the most amazing experience for him and our family. Ms. Eva is an incredible teacher and I have nothing but good things to say about this school. The tools and strategies used are so completely Montessori and truly help children flourish. Shadi the owner has done a fabulous job with accomplishing her dream with this school and any child would be lucky to be able to attend.

  • We have now spent nearly two years at Little Hoku. Our daughter is thrilled every day she gets to go to school and comes home full of excitement from the day. She has grown tremendously through her time at Little Hoku and we are grateful the teachers and administration have both been such wonderful partners in her development.
