CCYC is amazing! We love all of the staff here and all of the great things their facility offers. They have a room dedicated to gross motor skills and take frequent field trips.
Andrea VoynaJul 31, 2026My daughter has been at CCYC for 9 months and even before that we definitely had our eye on the center (she was not two yet). Working in childcare myself it is important for me to know that my daughter is in a high quality center, and the daycare I had to pull her out of months before she could start at CCYC was awful. CCYC has low retention for teachers which means my daughter has not had a million different adults to have to meet and learn, they have field trips every month which many daycares (don't offer and encourages children's exploration and gross motor development), and she comes home telling me such fun stories including other children and the staff being nothing but kind to her. My daughter has skin sensitivities and CCYC has been so patient and helpful in making sure she gets the help she needs whether it is a dietary adjustment, lotion at certain times of the day, or anything else. It's too bad that CCYC only takes school agers for the Downtown school or we would definitely keep our daughter enrolled until she maxed out. I have not seen in the 9 years of living in the metro a better quality daycare to take my child!
Destiny BoothMar 25, 2026Both our kids are in CCYC and we couldn't have asked for a better staff who care about the kids.
Nathan StueveJun 23, 2025I send my 3 children to CCYC's after school program and my children absolutely LOVE IT! They keep the kids busy with so many creative projects, their staff and Admin are wonderful and patient with my ADHD son and they love getting to spend extra time playing with their friends from school! I am a child care center director myself (we don't do school age) and can be picky as a result but I send my children here each day knowing they are in great care!!
Christna BergerAug 28, 2024We sent our two year old here for a few months when we first moved to town and I started a new job. He kept coming home with bruises on his head and arms they said was from tantrums. It was strange because this never happened at home but we thought maybe he was having some trouble adjusting. I noticed that the floor was carpeted and asked how he was getting bruises and was told he was running across the room to the hallway and throwing himself down there or banging himself into the walls. I had to pick him up once for an emergency pediatric dental appt, because they said he threw himself down the stairs and hit his mouth on the ground. The teacher sounded more angry than concerned when we picked him up which was alarming to me. He came home once and said that his teacher had told him he needed to pray before mealtimes or he was bad. I confronted the admin about this as I was told during our first tour this was NOT a religious center just housed in a religious building. I was told that although she prayed before meals, and involved the kids "if they wanted" she refuted saying that he was bad and said he made it up or heard it from another child. It was hard for me to believe a 2 year old lied about this but I wasnt there so I let it go. His teacher was promoted into an admin role and almost immediately had a meeting with us and saying she felt our child needed intervention and had "retarded development" because he struggled to bead a string (which is something he had never done before), that he refused to immediately put his shoes on top of a chair when instructed and questioned her instead. Honestly really bizarre sounding complaints. I was not against intervention when needed but the way she spoke to and about my child made us uncomfortable and we pulled him immediately. We went to a different center, and were completely upfront that he had been having issues at his first daycare center and said to please let us know asap if we could do anything to help him adjust. There was never a single bruise at the new center. When upset there, they said he tended to sulk a little before re-joining which is more aligned with his home behavior. He adapted to the new place happily, and has been praised as having pretty advanced communication and learning skills. The biggest negative behavioral feedback is that he can be stubborn and harder to re-direct but not excessively so. I have no idea what was going on with him at CCYC that was leading to him coming home bruised, but I deeply regret not pulling him sooner. I will never know what was going on at this school that led to my kid coming home injured regularly but I find it very strange that the difference was so night and day. I absolutely cannot recommend this care center at all after our negative experience.
