We have been part of Kiddie Academy for almost 7 years. My daughter attended for 3 years, and my son has been attending for 4 years. For a long time, we truly enjoyed being part of this community and trusted the care and support provided. However, after the change in leadership, our experience became very difficult, and I found myself in an extremely hurtful situation. As a single mother raising a child with autism, stability and routine are incredibly important for my son. Sudden changes are especially challenging for him. Being asked to leave at the end of the school year, when finding another placement is already difficult, creates a serious hardship. For children like my son, adjusting to a new environment can take 2–3 months or even longer. What hurt me the most was how quickly this decision was made. My son attended this program continuously for 4 years. Based on only about two weeks of unexpected behavior, I was asked to provide his IEP. After reviewing it, they said that he needs smaller groups and educational support that the program cannot provide. However, my son only attended during the afternoon hours. My understanding was that afternoons were primarily focused on play and social interaction, while structured educational activities mostly happened in the mornings. I explained that I had not expected him to need educational services during that time and simply wanted him to have the opportunity to play and be with other children. I was then told that their educational program also takes place in the afternoons, (which all entire 7 years was only mornings) and that because of this they felt they could no longer accommodate him. In my opinion, children are children. Occasional difficult behavior should not automatically lead to exclusion, especially for a child who has been part of the community for years. I cannot help but feel that my son’s diagnosis influenced the decision more than efforts to support him. I also feel there was not enough discussion, collaboration, or opportunity to create accommodations before deciding that he was no longer suitable for the program. This situation has affected not only my son emotionally but has also impacted my work, important meetings, and our family’s stability. I am writing this not only because I am hurt, but because I hope there can be more understanding, patience, and support for families raising children with different needs. So, my suggestion is to think about what could happen with any kids and you will be facing surprises.
Gulzar FrontMay 23, 2026we enrolled at the beginning of this year and it quickly turned into somewhere my kids run into with excitement each morning. the teachers are extra tentative to each of their needs and always have a smiling face to welcome us. I love the updates and pictures we receive through the app, the curriculum is great and the academy is consistently clean.

Lauren MarieAug 20, 2025We have had both of our children in Kiddie Academy Schaumburg since they opened and have had very happy memories there. The teachers and staff are very caring and my kids truly enjoyed it. The facility is clean and they have engaging teaching for the kids. We are sad to have to move on as our kids grow but recommend them to anyone looking for quality childcare/preschool!

The staff and her teachers have made her feel welcome from the start. We would recommend Kiddie Academy to anyone looking for full time daycare/preschool.
