My child just transitioned to public school, after attending Stepping Stones Portage Park since 2024. Stepping Stones has been a once-in-a-lifetime experience for him because of their focus on nature-based play and inclusion/diversity. No matter what the weather or season, he played outside almost daily. The food was fresh and nutritious. The staff is diverse, loving, and understanding. The Portage Park director, Susan, is extremely knowledgeable about child development and how to support toddlers / young children holistically. The classrooms and shared spaces are clean, inviting, and peaceful. Stepping Stones hosts many family events, such as seasonal celebrations and educational opportunities for families, thereby strengthening the home/daycare connection. If you are looking for a place for your child to be loved and supported, Stepping Stones Portage Park is that place.

We love the nature-based play philosophy and the staff executes these goals wonderfully. Our daughter is thriving and we are so thankful for the care provided to our family. The staff is just amazing. We are so appreciative that they make the efforts to really know her, remember her preferences, and appreciate her for who she is. They are extremely caring, responsive, and helpful with our child’s unique needs. She adores her school and community, and so do we!
