We had such a great experience at the Ivy Academy in Geneva this week. As a photo partner, we always appreciate a school that is organized, communicative, and child-centered—and this team was all of that and more. The teachers were warm, patient, and clearly love what they do. We’re grateful to have spent time with such a special school community. Thank you Ms. Jessica and team for the wonderful hospitality, we loved our time with you all!
Jackie KardeshFeb 26, 2026Our family has been part of the Ivy Academy for nearly two years, beginning when my son was just six weeks old. Over this time, we have developed a deep appreciation for the entire staff, and I have been consistently impressed by my son’s rapid developmental progress. The educators provide a truly personalized approach, demonstrating genuine kindness and care in every interaction. Mrs. Jessie is an exceptional coordinator, and the entire teaching team is simply outstanding. We feel incredibly fortunate to be part of such a nurturing environment.
Kerri JohnsonFeb 26, 2026We have had such a positive experience with this preschool. We initially choose Ivy Academy because my son has a speech delay, we were having a hard time finding a speech therapist and the teachers and staff have been incredibly supportive in helping him grow and build confidence expressing himself. He is now talking and using sign language at just 3! He knows his entire alphabet and letter sounds, can count to 30 and backwards from 20! They truly care about each child’s development and work closely with families to make sure kids are getting what they need. They have also been very understanding and flexible when it came to tuition, which meant so much to our family while we faced extremely challenging financial hardship. We did have two incidents where my son was bit by other children, and while that was understandably upsetting and not the school's fault, the Ivy Academy handled both situations with professionalism, transparency, and compassion. They communicated clearly, took our concerns seriously, and worked with us to ensure a safe environment. One thing I appreciate most is that they are always willing to sit down and talk through any concerns no matter the time of day. That level of accessibility and care speaks volumes. We truly feel like we've found extended family in our son’s growth, and we’re grateful to be part of this school community.
Nikki JayFeb 24, 2026I truly wanted to leave a better review because the classroom teachers were wonderful to our children. Meghan, Jackie, Daisy (Teacher Assistant), John, and Maria deserve real recognition for their patience, warmth, and consistency. They showed genuine care, especially with our son who has ADHD. They are the reason this is not a one-star review. We sincerely hope they are treated with the respect they deserve and compensated accordingly. For those wondering why we stayed as long as we did: we already knew we were moving out of district within a few months and did not want to disrupt our children twice. The actual day-to-day care from the teachers was not the issue, outside of the allergy incident noted below. Unfortunately, our experience with management and executive leadership was deeply concerning. There was a consistent lack of accountability, repeated billing errors, and poor communication. We had to escalate concerns and walk leadership through their own written agreement to correct improper charges. Explanations changed multiple times, and one dispute escalated to the point where law enforcement was called during an on-site interaction. That should never happen at a childcare facility. There were also health and safety concerns. My daughter has a documented dairy allergy with a doctor’s note on file and listed on her physical. Despite this, her restriction was not consistently followed and she developed rashes regularly. A staff member acknowledged forgetting, yet management did not provide a clear corrective plan or meaningful accountability. We experienced multiple outbreaks of hand, foot, and mouth disease. My daughter contracted it three times, and my son (aftercare only) contracted it twice. Illness happens, but the frequency was alarming. Transportation, which is handled by management, was another serious issue. When the daycare bus broke down, we were not notified directly. We only learned about it because our son’s elementary school contacted us. We were then told he would be transported in a personal vehicle. The school refused to release him without explicit permission from us. That lack of communication was unacceptable. Additionally, the center closes for nearly two weeks around Christmas while continuing to charge tuition. As working parents, that creates significant hardship. I also witnessed other parents in heated disputes with management during pick-up times, which reinforced concerns about leadership and conflict resolution practices. We have since moved on and are not seeking a response. Nothing said at this point will change how this experience made us feel. I am sharing this so other parents can ask thorough questions about billing practices, allergy management, transportation protocols, illness handling, holiday closures, and how leadership responds when concerns are raised. The teachers were the heart of the center. Leadership, in our experience, did not reflect that same standard.
Chantel JonesFeb 20, 2026I cannot say enough wonderful things about this daycare! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warmth and genuine friendliness. Every single staff member knows each child by name — not just the ones in their classroom — which speaks volumes about the community they’ve built. As a teacher myself, I truly appreciate their professionalism and attention to detail. They have never missed communicating an incident report, and I’m always informed about meals, diaper changes, and bathroom routines. Their parent-teacher conferences are thoughtful and thorough, sharing not only my child’s strengths but also specific areas for growth, with ideas for support. The communication is outstanding, and it’s clear they truly know and care for each child. Having worked in and tried other daycares in the area, I can honestly say I wish we had found this place sooner! It is an absolute gem, and I’m so grateful my children get to learn and grow here.
Dana SanzottiAug 13, 2025I have a four-year-old and a two-year-old currently at the Ivy Academy. Would initially drew us to the program was it’s flexibility with part-time schedules. That was really important to us and they were able to accommodate right away. Currently my children’s teachers are Miss Maria and Mr. Alex. Both my kids love going to school and talk about all the friends they’re making. A couple of times they have called me if my kids were not feeling well and I feel like they take care of them like they’re their own until I’m able to pick them up.
