The Learning Experience at Westfield

They do a great job balancing learning and play, helping children grow socially, emotionally, and academically. Communication with parents is excellent—they keep you informed and are always open to questions or concerns.

Hands down the best place ever! Their staff is phenomenal, their curriculum is amazing and I would recommend them a thousand times over. We enrolled our daughter when we moved here last summer and she has learned so much and really enjoys going here. We're very impressed with TLE all around!

Our daughter loves TLE! She has thrived since she started attending last year and is learning a ton. The teachers are all wonderful and we love the director, Erica! Everyone is wonderful and welcoming!

The Good: When enrolling my daughter here, i had high hopes. Ms. Erica made our enrollment and our time there so special. She made us feel so comfortable. They gave us a cute little gift consisting of tissues on the first day, because it was our first time leaving our child in the hands of people other than ourselves :,))). It was super thoughtful and sentimental. In addition, the meals were wholesome and the updates were pretty consistent. When my daughter first started, her teacher was very nice and welcoming. The not so good: My daughter went from enjoying going to school to not enjoying it and not wanting to go. I wish i would’ve listened to her sooner. I started to see some yellow/red flags. The teacher she started with was out of the classroom a month or so in. Then after that, there was new teachers in her class it felt like every other couple weeks. For a child who needs consistency and consistent faces- this was far from ideal. It seemed the teacher turnover rate was very high. New faces all the time everywhere, not just her class. The teachers seemed stressed and i could feel the tension when i would go to pick my daughter up early. I’m not sure how they spoke to kids but i know i walked in one day and my child was upset & they were not comforting in the slightest bit. I understand structure but this day my daughter obviously did not feel well and they were still forcing her to participate (i didn’t know she was sick until i picked her up and she came home vomiting- don’t know what that was about). She was sick while attending here pretty consistently. I was also led to believe from the start that potty training would be highly focused on and something that the teachers could facilitate. My daughter’s first teacher encouraged me to put her in underwear and just bring extra clothes. I felt she wasn’t exactly ready but with the teachers confidence, i thought why not. So i started doing just that. About this time is when that teacher left the class. Then i started to get updates through the app of photos of my daughter with wet pants and obvious stains. How could a teacher acknowledge a student is wet and proceed to take a photo and upload it? This happened several times. I’d pick her up and her pants would be soaked/ stained. When we went back to pull ups, i would pick her up and her pull up would be soaked full as if they weren’t changing her enough. She came home with diaper rash on several occasions, issues we never had before. No parent obviously wants this for their child so that was extremely off putting. I also saw a review previously of someone who experienced the same thing with potty training- that is deleted now. Weird. But we are not the only ones who experienced this. This location is obviously in a high rate area. Very expensive. I admire that the owner seemed to be understanding of my situation financially (we honestly had no business attending here as expensive as it was lol). But she seemed to be empathetic to it. They offer childcare vouchers if you get approved for it which is nice. Overall, the school is built on a good educational foundation. I just wish there was more learning geared towards what they put out and that took place in the smaller classrooms because some days it did seem like it was just daycare instead of preschool. & If it weren’t so highly priced and the staff was consistent, we maybe would have stayed. However with the small things i saw, I’m glad we left when we did.

We attended the Trunk-or-Treat event earlier at The Learning Experience. While the event was enjoyable, I was concerned by the conduct of one participant. I observed a woman distributing Russian candies to adults selectively, providing them to certain individuals but not to others based on race. I am unsure whether she is a staff member or a parent volunteer. However, if she is employed at the site, this raises serious concerns regarding fairness and potential discrimination. As a result, I would be uncomfortable entrusting my children to her supervision.
