  • Wish I never took my child to this daycare. The only worker I trust here is Vivian in the nursery…where my child started and did wonderful. If I could give this daycare zero stars, I would. I was called by the daycare to come and get my child because he was inconsolable and was kicking the doors and acting out and they could not get him to calm down. Two weeks later, my child comes home with bright red fingerprints on his right hip. The next day, I asked them what happened to my child and they said they did not know. The very next day I was contacted by CPS to take my child to UK for forensic testing! You would think out of all the daycare’s in Richmond right now who are being shut down for child abuse they would see the forest through the trees. Can’t even put two and two together. I am extremely devistated and enraged. I should’ve known something was wrong after months of my child, being terrified to be placed in the room with Shakira RESPONSE TO OWNER/ADMINISTRATOR: Forrest came home Monday night with these marks on his legs. There is a picture with a timestamp by the way, the wounds on his Were fresh they had happened not long before I got there to pick him up. It’s funny to me how you are saying that you waited until Tuesday to call CPS when you’re saying in your response that my child arrived with them on him Monday morning I confronted your workers and Miss Shaki Savannah on Tuesday morning. If you were aware that they were there on Monday then why did you not call then???? Hmmmm A little ironic, don’t you think? You have no idea how horrible of a mistake you have made if I did that to my child I would’ve never taken a picture. I would’ve never brought it to anyone’s attention at all. I wouldn’t have sent him to daycare if I could help it and if I had to send him, I would’ve at least tried to cover it up with make up. I’m not an idiot. But apparently you are because you are saying that you waited because you did wait until Tuesday after I brought them to the teachers attention an hour after I dropped him off Tuesday I got a call from CPS …. Why wait? Hmm??? Forest teacher, Miss Shakira does not need to be working at a daycare facility. It’s obvious that she does not want to be there. It is also became clear to me that you all could not handle Temper tantrums anymore, and all you were trying to do was retaliate against me on account of Bobo’s mother finding out from me that you Her autistic child in a room all by himself for who knows how long but he was fine. He didn’t choke on a toy. He didn’t fall off the little slide in the room And break his neck he was fine. He was reading a book. I know how Forest is and I know that ever since he started Miss Shakira’s room he has absolutely hated daycare. You know exactly how happy he was when he started he never had any problems maybe a little bit of separation anxiety. What happened when he switched to Miss Shakira‘s room He threw tantrums Was terrified to be left there I should’ve seen the red flags a lot sooner Just so you know, the picture is documented on when it was taken And just so you know, you are going to reap what you have sewn. You don’t falsely accuse someone of abuse and get away with it. I’m assuming you’re just now responding Review because of the investigation that was supposed to happen at your facility. You’re a liar you’re unprofessional And you don’t want to be in trouble again right after what happened with Bobo Right thing if that was your child left alone in a room, wouldn’t you want someone to tell you of course you would if you couldn’t handle my child anymore all you had to do was come to me And respect respectfully and professionally tell ME we are sorry forest does not seem happy here. We are having a lot of trouble with him as you see we’ve had to call you and have you come pick him up because we cannot handle Even though that is your job, all you had to say was forest would be better suited at a different daycare because he is not Doing well here that’s all you had to say. Tacky unprofessional and appalling and that’s an understatement

  • As a parent of 3 that attend I have nothing but good things to say about this center. They use an app to update parents and communicate throughout the day. My kids no longer cry when they are dropped off. They love going to "school" and seeing all their teachers. The teachers are consistent and the turn over rate is slim to none. The teachers treat the kiddos like their own and love on them and educate them on age appropriate activities.

  • My child came home with bite marks almost daily when he was in the one year old room. Even on his face. He choked on fruit and they did not call an ambulance after i was td his face had turned blue. I never got an incident report or anything When he got to the two year old room his teacher seemed to be doing good with them but he still cried every single day at drop off, which he doesn't do where he is at now. We had more articles of clothing go missing than I can count. When he reached the 3 year old room it was overcrowded. It was downstairs and we heard yelling every time we came in. They were given bug spray due to my son having a mosquito allergy, ut he wod co.e home covered in bites that would blister. We switched shortly after. It was the worst experience and I truly regret letting my child go there as long as I did. Hopefully they cleaned up the staff and have changed classroom. Sizes so the kids can get the attention they deserve. Even under new ownership I would be weary.

  • I love this daycare! Teachers are so awesome, and attentive. The facility itself is beautiful, big, and inviting for children. They have their classrooms separated unlike some daycare facilities here in Richmond. Kids that are different ages are not separated by a make-shift sheet and PVC pipe, if u know, u know where I'm talking about. My son at the previous daycare had so many issues, it seemed everyday. They actually gave my son a 2-week notice and it was the best thing that has ever happened. We are not coming home with a report, or getting called to pick him up. The director is very good, and the director over all three is awesome and works hard to ensure all the amenities the children get. Since school has let out his class gets to go to the pool, they have ice cream trucks come, kangaroos came one day for the kids to pet. I could go on, and on. We have had pretty much zero issues and he has been there for almost a year. I was told it was considered the best daycare in Richmond...I have to agree. So glad to be there! Thank you BCC!

  • This daycare is currently under new ownership so maybe they are trying to get it right but I would definitely watch EVERYTHING! I should have been skeptical from the beginning because my niece was constantly sick (which can happen in a daycare but it could be cleaned and sanitized better). Then she started having BAD behavioral issues that she did NOT have before starting there. They were constantly asked to not put her with another kid that was acting up. Then they also had teachers that are not trained to deal with children, the rooms have child locks on the doors but are not properly used so the kids can run out and then they blame the kids. They will kick your child out and call them a “liability” when they can’t (don’t want to) handle your child. Don’t bother putting your kids name on the items you send because they will be used on other kids (I would send Huggies diapers and wipes and my son that breaks out would come home with Walmart diapers on). I have had my kids come home with other kids clothes in their backpacks because they don’t put the kids items in their cubbies when the incidents are happening. My kids were not there for a couple weeks and their wipes come up missing from their cubby and I’m sure were used on someone else. I send Huggies sensitive and I guess they got tired of hearing about them and replaced them with Walmart wipes. The kids should be taught something for the prices that are being charged per week. It’s honestly so frustrating!!

  • Full time employed single parent of a special needs child. Mornings are unorganized/chaotic, no idea what room your child is going to, whom the teacher will be. Probably 50% of the time it appeared as if the young teacher had too many children in their care. I also picked my child up twice in a room alone and had I not called the daycare or sought out a worker to let them know I was picking him up, they would not have known. (the director alluded to the fact that it was his fault for wondering off during the conversation I mention below). My child attended for 2 years - I received a message to pick him up and to speak with the director. During this impromptu meeting I was notified that my child could not return, at all. There were zero indications that this was coming, no write ups, no conversations… NOTHING. (poor business practice) I think the world of all the young underpaid adults working there doing their best to make it work, they were wonderful with my little one. & I’ll also take a moment to mention that the daycare he just started attending made a point to tell me that if they do not feel as though they can handle him/provide the care he needs - they will in fact give me time to get something else in place. - my rating would be higher had Bluegrass paid me the same courtesy.
